COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

Bonusflarra från Kraddel. Thanks! Härlig tung upphällning med cappuccinofärgat skum. Som en hel chokladkaka i doft. Lite vanilj även. Krämig och ganska tung med lagom beska. Förhållandevis torrt avslut men inte så det stör. Bara lite otippat. Endast förnimbar alkohol trots hög ABV.

Pours very similar to Black Albert - beautiful pitch black, lots of carbonation, big dark brown frothy head. Aromas of bourbon, leather, vegemite, chocolate, espresso, vanilla. The taste is magnificent. Bourbon notes, charred meat, chocolate, vanilla, cream, espresso. It’s quite sweet at first and then dries out nicely before finishing with a welcome bitterness and tartness from the barrel ageing. Velvet smooth and super creamy in the mouth. A really fantastic beer worthy of the hype.

330ml bottle BB 15-07-15 Serious looking stout; pitch black body, opaque, holds a dense deep tan head. Amazing aroma; toasted waffles, rich dark chocolate, coconut, charred oak, roast nuts, vinous dark fruits, maple syrup. Rich texture, very syrupy, viscous, oily, accentuated by a low carbonation,.still turns out quite dry, very long. Very complex on the body, perhaps even a bit too much(?); lots of rich caramel syrup, chocolate topping, toasty oak vanilla and coconut, Darker fruits emerge towards a long finish. Moderate bitterness, sweetness lingers but in a balanced sort of way. Beautiful beer. Doesn’t seem to have the depth of the Black Albert, still immensely complex and flavoursome.

Pours totally black with a dense black head. Aroma is malt, roastiness, chocolate, coffee, caramel, dark fruits, some soy sauce and woody notes. Taste is medium to high sweet leading to a lightly roasty and woody finish. Barely a hint of the alcohol. Fantastic!
