COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously 13% abv, 11% abv from 2014->. Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark brown color with an average to large frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Heavy dark fruit, toasted chocolate malt flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

Bottle courtesy of bytemesis, thanks Mike! Pour black with a 2 finger mocha head. Beautiful. Nice spotty lacing that clings to the glass and nice legs too. Aromas of chocolate. roasted nut, dark fruit - plum/cherry, oak and bourbon. Taste follows the nose with nice velvety chocolate, roasted notes, anise, plum/cherry notes, vanilla, oak and then bourbon,. Very nicely balanced and the alcohol was very well hidden for the ABV. Nice sipper!

Bottle 2012. Nose is powerful and subtle. Whiskey which is not overpowering, vanilla, cola, licorice, hint of smokey treacle, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, whiskey, vanilla, figs, Christmas pudding, dark fruit, cherry, cream, brown sugar, treacle, nuts,a little chocolate in the finish. There is jsut enough hop to stop it being cloying. Mouthfeel is rich. A magnificent beer, which is maybe just a touch too sweet.

Bottle from Saveur Bière (2012 Vintage, 11%). Big, creamy, dark, head. Dark brown body. Smells of chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, currants, apple, yeast. Tastes surprisingly lean at first, a lot of chocolate, cream, sugar, currant, yeast, with a slight bitterness which takes over in the aftertaste which brings in dark roasted coffee beans and more chocolate. Amazingly balanced and complex. Imperial Stout with a Belgian touch that I doubt gets better than this.

Bottle @ James. Black pour or dark brown w dark tan head. Sweet molasses, chocolate, brown sugar. Clean finish but not crazy about it.

Butelka. Ładna piana, ale szybko znikjaąca. W aromacie nuty palone, lekko wyczuwalny alkohol. W smaku bardzo złożone, czekolada, kawa, słodkie owoce, beczkowe nuty.

330ml bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a few dark brown bubbles. Sticky and tar like, leaving a brown film on the glass if you tilt it. Aroma is treacle, burnt caramel, figs, prunes and dates. The taste is similar but even better. Alcohol is well coveted. But the texture. Its so smooth. So drinkable. Amazing stuff.

Bottle shared by the importer at The Common Room. 11% imperial stout. A dark black pour with a ruddy tan head. A nutty coffee & toffee candy aroma. Medium bodied with a zesty mouthfeel. The initial hit is coffee & chocolate, a bit roasty with some maple sweetness in the finish. Great.

Flaska (tack Nordicv).

’12 vintage enjoyed in ’15. APPEARANCE - Black beauty in a glass. Deep nougat colored head with real staying power. NOSE - Surprisingly little scent to it right out of the fridge. But give it few minutes to warm up to get the real benefit of this brew. FLAVOR - Super! Deep rich notes of heavily roasted malt. Very complex flavors, with a hint of black licorice. NOTES - excellent. Never would have thought such a rich & complex beer would have such a lively label.

330ml bottle, pours black with a small bubbly dark head. Nose is Moreno cherry, silky chocolate, bourbon, molasses. Moreishly sweet with a light medium body and a silky, light oily texture. Dark fruit and a mild hop bitterness rounds off the sweetness, with a fine lasting carbonation.
