COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

bottle. Deep black with a chocolatey brown head. Dark, roasty malty nose. Almost oily consistency, dark roasty flavours, cocoa, coffee, some caramel. Not dry, pleasantly malty with just the right sweetness. Vinous notes, vanilla and some woody flavours round this off.

una sola parola!!!! WOAW!!

Bottle11%. Black with creamy light brown head, nice lacing with a few big bubbles. Super sweet pomegranate, strawberries, milk chocolate, vanilla icecream, honey, bourbon, Irish coffee. Massive full body with intense sweetness with light tart finish and light to medium bodied and amazing creamy feel. World class.

Really dense and creamy head. Strong blueberry and blackberry aroma. Also, is that bourbon? Really delicious.

33cl bottle. Pours black with a dense beige head which reasonably lasts leaving light lacing. Aroma: is black fruits, roasted malts, and a hint of wood. Taste: Sweet Roasted Malts,Vanilla, chocolate, dried cherries and liquorice with a warming bourbon finish. Sweeter and less bitter as what I recall from Black Albert. Also more fruity light bourbon tones which replaces the dark chocomell sensation. Medium body, moderatly sparkling carbonation, Which is nice to see on a stout when it works., velvet smooth texture. Well the expectations were high with Black Albert being my favourite beer so far. And I have to say this one is different. Allthough I personally think that Black Albert is the better one, I can understand people favouring one over the other. Still this is a excellent brew. and one of the Best Belgian beers i’ve had.

33cl bottle served in a snifter. Pours black with a dense beige head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is black fruits, malts and sweet stickiness. Mouthfeel is supremely smooth with little carbonation. Taste is sweet malt and complex Black Albert flavours with a smoother execution and a tad more complexity. No bourbon presence so the barrel aging appears to be to impart a more refined smoothness to the standard Black Albert rather than overpower with bourbon flavours. A classy imperial stout.

Had this immediately after Black Albert. A step above Black Albert with the aftertaste of Bourbon and much more complex. Caramel, coffee, nuts. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
