4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours realy black and oily. I say black! Brown head. Full nose of berriefruits, strong coffie, chocolate. Starts with dark chocolate sweetness, not so strong as expected, more smooth but heavy and oily, slightly drinkable! The 13% alc are totally hidden. Malt hints in the second row. More fruity coffie to the end. Great one! Big thank you to kappldav123 for this experience.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours near black with a beige head. Molasses and big dark fruity notes, mild roasted malts, raisin, vanilla, and mild bourbony notes. It’s fine, but these big boozy Belgian stouts are usually much too rich for my tastes.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pitch black with a very fie poring toast coloured head. Aromas of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark red fruits, plums, oak and caramelised dates and walnuts develop. Smoothly carbonated, with a rather mild texture and a full body. A bit sweet and astringent tasting of vanilla, coffee/espresso, roast malts and bitter chocolate. lasting sweet-bitter finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle, 2012 vintage, from Ammersin 5, Vienna.
Black body, with a medium, dense, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of bourbon, dried and dark fruits, cocoa, liquorice, some coffee, some alcohol.
Tastes of dried fruits, coffee, cocoa, liquorice, bourbon, wood, liquorice, some booze.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty, quite dry, a bit alcoholic, with coffee, wood, some bourbon, liquorice.
Tasty. Well integrated bourbon, not too dominant, with lovely coffee and cocoa notes and overall greatly balanced. I don’t like the typical Belgian sweet dried fruits notes in an Imperial Stout too much though. So this isn’t among my favourite beers of this style, while it’s still really enjoyable.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottiglia. Fantastica birra.
