COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

Bouteille de 330ml. Vintage 2011. Merci Pat.

Bottle share thanks to beechner bros. Deep dark, mostly black pour. Sweet, grainy, lightly boozy, chocolately roasty. Sweet, roasty, grainy. More booze but smooth. Still lightly underattenuated tasting.

Bottle thanks to little bro and UDBeernut. Pours black, small head. Aroma is super rich. Malty, chocolate, booze. Taste is sweet, diabetes sweet. Don’t know if I get much bourbon, but it’s so sweet, could be in there. Toffee and raisins. Real sticky.

Full chocolate mocha nose. A smooth start leading to some furry fuzzy mouth impact before hitting some sourness and returning to a lengthy luxurious smoothness. Decent length totally resolved and fully integrated. Pretty good stuff.

Great stuff. Just enough Belgian with some awesome imperial stout. Some Belgian yeast type funkiness underlies this and makes it different from a lot of the American styles. Dark chocolate, some booze. Bourbon evident but not overpowering. Bottle.

Bottle from a trade with Slovaksniper, thank you sir. Midnight black colour, huge three finger dark brown head, that eventually dies down to a ring. Nose is a little bourbon, that gives way to sugary vanilla barrel character. Tastes silky smooth, a touch of bitterness, heat from the booze, and eventually if you hold it becomes a tongue numb-er. This puppy I was the first beer I had of the night and it’s a creeper.

From tap @ Bier caB. Pours dark brown to black with a small brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, light chocolate, sweet, caramel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, chocolate, cocoa, dark fruits, light alchool, very light sourness that can be felt in throat. A bit watery but it’s perfectly balanced, creamy. GREAT!
