Previously 13% abv, 11% abv from 2014->. Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

Bottle from 2009. Nose of oak, chocolate, cherry, berries. Dry, classy, mineral flavor. Dirty, with espresso, oak, phenols. Dry, dry, dry, with dust and apples. Tannic. Great, classy, old-world BA stout.

Draft. Black. Bubbly light brown head. Very sweet. Bourbon and chocolate. Different from its peers somehow, not at all like most BA stouts. Dark cherry. Brown sugar. Finishes dry and somewhat woody. Bba is secondary. Smooth. No booze whatsoever. ..crazy! Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Dangerous.

Bottle bought at Geers in Oostakker. Pours black with a big fluffy dark brown head. Medium carbonation. Nose: roasted malts, burned nuts, bitter chocolate, milky, oily, coffee, oak, vinegar, dried fruits. Taste: starts vinegar, coffee notes, and sweetness (dried fruits) with chocolate hints. oily/milky texture, taste reminds me a bit of "drop" candy". Vintage 2009, in Kulminator. Quite big tan head, sticky. It’s deep dark color, almost black. Aroma vineous and oak, malts, dark fruuts, espesially prunes, very complex and warm. Flavour the same, with medium sweet and bitter. Amazing!

From bottle at the Bevog 2nd anniversary. Pours a deep black color, topped with a medium sized dark tan colored head. Mild chocolate aroma with some gentle roasty notes. Taste is slightly sweet, milk chocolate with more prominent roasty feel. A bit of bitterness and quite some warming alcohol presence. A bit strong, but otherwise very fine.
