3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle bought at De Molen’s Borefts Bier Festival. Light hazy reddish brown colour, creamy off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, dried dark fruits like raisins and prunes, caramel and a hint of sugary sourness. Flavour is sweet, very malty, dark bread, caramel, light roasted malts, raisins, some vanilla and cloves, hoppy bitterness underneath, some earthy liquorice and alcohol in the bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft oily mouthfeel. Very tasty bock.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 8.0%. Cloudy dark red brown colour. No head. The flavour is quite sweet, has some dried fruit. Good bitterness to balance. Slightly spicy, probably from the hops. A bit sweet, but very nice.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2010 On tap at 1st Borefts BF 09. Murky red/brown colour, flat, no head. Sherbert and sweet fruits on aroma. Some carbonation in mouth. Slightly herby in the flavour. Bit of heat comes through. Sweetness/sherbert is quite attractive. Sweet candied fruits on the swallow. OK. Bit of herb on aroma. Urbain said that it was young and would improve in 3 months, so I am keeping the bottle I bought in the shop for after Christmas. 737314- 3.4/5.0
Re-rate bottle on 4 April Easter Sunday. Actually quite hoppy on the aroma with some lovely big malts as well. Lovely in the mouth. Some raisin and plums, grapes and a bit of spice. Finish has toffee, more deepish malts and more fruit. Excellent really. Definitely developed since first having it 6 months ago but still holds onto the drinkability.

Bottle @ 1st BBF, De Molen.
Pours deep redish brown with a small film head that soon disappears. Lovely fruity aroma with fat caramel malts and a little liqourice. Low carbonation, good oily mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, fat caramel, vinious, raisins and lightly roasted. Long, lingering, flowery bitterness. Nice and quite drinkable.
