UPDATED: SEP 2, 2012 Deep murky brown pour. Thin khaki head. Brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits, booze, banana, and bread. Thick and sweet with moderate carbonation. Dense-full bodied finish. A bit too ambitious of an effort to deliver at this ABV--but enjoyable nonetheless.

Orange colored pour, off white head. Very big and sweet aroma, booze, dried fruit. Flavor burns some, really sweet, over the top. Some toffee notes. Wow, too much booze here.

Tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours clear orange with a fine foam head. Big doughy caramel nose with sweet, ripe fruits and booze. Hugely sweet flavor with lots of alcohol present. Itís sticky and thick, with caramel, sugar syrup. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation, and incredibly syrupy. Warm finish with tons of sweet toffee, liquified and jammy fruits, caramel, some bread. Lots of sugar syrup, some Belgian candi. Itís a huge beer and you certainly know itís a high ABV beer (though perhaps not 25%) but there is still lots of enjoyable character in here.

On tap at CBC 2012. Looks good in the glass, almost no head. Very sweet aroma. Starts very sweet, notes of chewing gum, extremly alcoholic. Fiery-fruity. Finish still very strong and fruity. Goes down burning. Interesting, but much too alcoholic.

Bottle*.

Light unclear medium amber colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate malty, riped fruit, wood, alcohol, light to moderate hoppy, glue notes, buzzy. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20120421]

16-JUN-2012, draft @Un Mare di Birra. Hazy mahogany with almost no head. Alcoholic nose with caramel, brown sugar, bread, and herbs. Extremely tasteful, extremely alcoholic and sweet.Too alcoholic. More like 40% than 6,7%. Sticky sweet, cloying. Like a barley wine gone Belgian. Too much.

Bottle, 06/02/2012. Pours ruby amber color, minimal spotty beige head, syrupy legs of alcohol. Aroma definitely very malty, sweet, tripel-like fruitiness- apples, pears- dark caramel and spiciness that blends in with hot boozy finish. Taste is equally intense- apples, pears, plum identifiable in the myriad fruit notes, along with sweet toffee syrup bread maltiness, and serious alcoholic heat. Palate is ultra-thick, syrupy, liqueur like, mild carbonation. Probably a bit over the top, but lovely in small doses- if this really does mellow out down the line, will be much nicer.
