[5/10/12] Bottle sample from someone at Sour & Bitter. Hazy dark amber. Malty alcoholic aroma. Sweet flavor with malt, fruits and lots of burning alcohol. Full-bodied, a bit syrupy. Too boozy.

Tap at CBC and 750mL red wax shared at Sour&Bitter. Pours a clear amber with higher carbonation. Webby sheets of lace atop clear ruby. Sticky to the max malt nose with dark fruits, rustic grain, bit malt, port, heavy quadrupel dark fruits. Mildly estery. Funny that it still comes across as a quad even though I had no idea what the style was even supposed to be. Taste is bready, big butterscotch, massive toffee, sweet strawberry. Vinous. Thick as hell malt bomb. Super sticky. Would probably get a 0.5 from ryan. I donít really mind it. It is exactly what it is- 25% mega eisbocked quadrupel. Do I want some more? No thank you. This is nice to share with 20+ people with a small amount in a snifter. Could take the place of a dessert port.

Just a taste at sour and bitter. Clear gold pour, no head. Aroma is surprisingly not boozy, lots of rich port like aromas, vanilla and fruit, brandy. Taste has a bit more alcohol taste, but very well done compared to overly boozy beers Iíve had. This actually tastes like good port wine but a little stronger and obviously malty. Palate has nice alcohol warmth without tasting like rubbing alcohol. Very nice.

Thanks travlr! Pours copper with no head. If quadrupel liquor existed it would smell like this. Big syrup, brown sugar, caramel, huge booze that burns in your nose, dark sweet fruits, belgian yeast esters and some nuttyness. Taste is syrup, brown sugar, booze, dark fruits, ripe plums and a syrupy thick body which is somehow very carbonated.

Deep golden clear Nose is sweet and malty, with tonnes of candy sugar. Taste is very sweet, with loads of dried fruits. Surprisingly little alcohol, but the warmth of it is unmistakable. Full body and soft carb. Very likeable in small amounts.

Draft at CBC. Clear amber pour with a tiny tan head. Aroma of sweet malt and ripe fruits. Sweet fruity flavour with noticeable alcohol. Thick body with some unexpected carbonation.

Dark amberish/brownish color. Off-white head with some lacing. Malty aroma. Taste is malty with some raisiny hints. Much like a 12 on crack. Not bad, but thank goodness for small samples. Might be a bit on the boozy side.

eh, sorry, nothing good to say here. haters gonna hate, nobody likes a critic, all that stuff. booze, caramel, ethanol, dates, alcohol, caramel and booze in the nose. sticky, medium body (or maybe itís a bit thin/flabby/low-acid for itís sugar and malt body, anyway I can describe it, itís off-balance for my tastes). strong alcoholic apple, pear, white grape fruit notes throughout. rough, raw, green and does not suit my tastes at all.
