Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Golden brown with a large off-white head that leaves behind some nice lacing. Aroma is apricot, honey, peach, caramel, dates. Sticky mouthfeel and extremely sweet on the palate, almost cloying. Taste is Belgian candi sugar, honey, caramel, dried apricots, mango, orange marmalade. Sweet and delicious, you wouldn’t pick it as 25% - there is only a hint of booze.

[5/10/12] Bottle sample from someone at Sour & Bitter. Hazy dark amber. Malty alcoholic aroma. Sweet flavor with malt, fruits and lots of burning alcohol. Full-bodied, a bit syrupy. Too boozy.

Tap at CBC and 750mL red wax shared at Sour&Bitter. Pours a clear amber with higher carbonation. Webby sheets of lace atop clear ruby. Sticky to the max malt nose with dark fruits, rustic grain, bit malt, port, heavy quadrupel dark fruits. Mildly estery. Funny that it still comes across as a quad even though I had no idea what the style was even supposed to be. Taste is bready, big butterscotch, massive toffee, sweet strawberry. Vinous. Thick as hell malt bomb. Super sticky. Would probably get a 0.5 from ryan. I don’t really mind it. It is exactly what it is- 25% mega eisbocked quadrupel. Do I want some more? No thank you. This is nice to share with 20+ people with a small amount in a snifter. Could take the place of a dessert port.
