Pour from Shahin Thanks ! Pours a rich copper color perfectly still. The nose is big complex sweet toffee, deep ripe plum, caramel a and a bit of boozy vinous notes. The palate is smooth and mouth-coating like a fine sherry. Lots of complexities in the palate with flavors unfolding as the palate adjusts to the boozy heat and layered notes of belgian spices, caramel, date. doughy sourness... touches of rye.

Sampled at the End of History tasting. Aroma is brown sugar, molasses, and chocolate. Pours sludgy black and brown with tons of oily film and no head. Taste is super sweet with molasses, dark chocolate, and brown sugar. Thick coating mouthfeel but no real alcohol burn. Nice beer flavored syrup, really.

On draught. Boozey and sweet. Caramel, sugar, alcohol heat. Nose of wood, vinous dark fruits, prunes, dates. Beautiful sirupy viscosity... what a palate treat this 25ABV gem!

Eisbock-processed version of Quadrupel X, leading to an astonishing alcohol strength of 25% ABV and produced only in extremely limited quantities (216 bottles, I was told), sold at 100 EUR per bottle, but the gainings are used for charity, apparently. Despite the massive alcohol content, it still carried a quite firm, off-white head over a hazy deep amber hue. Very powerful, if not overpowering, complexely perfumed aroma of amaretto and marzipan, caramel candy, honey and orange liqueur. Very sweet, orange- and almond-like taste, near to syrupy mouthfeel, cloying, liqueurish, very complex and long-lasting, inevitably very alcohol and ending in a dry and long, liqueur-like alcohol warmth. Maybe a bit too strong for what it can bear, but very fascinating nonetheless. A kind of beer liqueur, one could argue, and more a super-strong barley wine than a true quadrupel to me.

Bottle (mega thanks to BelgBeerGeek for this one and to hannont for bringing this over)... Poured clear, reddish with no head. Nose of wood, vinous dark fruits, prunes, raisins, etc.. Super thick, completely coated my palate. Sweet, heavy booze, spirit-like with a ton of alcohol heat. Lots of dark fruit characters, dark cherry with some vanilla and sugary candied sweet tones. Intense.

finally. we had this bottle at a tasting with 4 other people. took some time to take of the wax. poured into molen tasting glasses. poured a deep amber red colour with no head. smell was like a port, strong boozy nose. with sweet sugar / caramel. with some fruits hidden in the back cuz’of the alcohol. and wow! the viscosity of this beer is so incredible thick! never had a beer that had such a thick mouthfeel. it’s like you would take a spoon to eat it out of the glass. verry sweet taste, with apples, more candy sugar, wine feeling. well it was for a good charity

Bottle shared by "hannont". Colour...semi cloudy garnet-amber with no head. Nose...butterscotch, boiled cherry sweets, marzipan and macerated cherries soaked in booze. Palate... Massively cloying and boozy with a thick feel that reminds one of kirschwasser or framboise liqueur. The palate is eminently coating and the booze and dryness really hits mid and back palate. This doesn’t seem like 25% and I’ll bet it could sneak up and kick your patoot right quick!
