Brewed for the first time on January 29th 2009. Hopverdomme aka Hopdamnit, is a very original name coined by Beejay Oslon. He was a Struise intern at that time, but launched Pipeworks Brewing Company two years ago, Chicago USA. Hopverdomme is the perfect union between hops and a Flemish curse, that should live up to the high expectations of the cursed who are drawn to drink this „damned“ hoppy ale.

Very heavy ’triple’ IPA made in collaboration with Pipeworks. Thin, off-white head, cloudy, deep amber colour. Excessively hoppy aroma as expected, grapefruit, tobacco, ginger, orange peel, apricot, white pepper, tonic water, grass, lime. Fruity onset on a caramelly malt base, citrussy and spicy, nicely blending into a powerful, herbal, citrussy hop bitterness, long and dry, with the expected, but not disturbing and actually quite well-hidden, warming alcohol. Impressive.

murky caramel tan, oily white top. Dirty cardboard nose, oxidized manure with faint earth and plum. Initially sweet flavor is hash of raw sugar and oxidation, sugars through iron and manure mid, sticky finish is marshmallow and caramel doused in alcohol.

Heavy as a motherfucker but not as boozy as you woudl expect. Also not as hoppy (overseas journey). It isn’t bad, very earthy.

Sample at SBWF 2013. Hazy amber with a small head. Aroma and taste of hops, grape, citrus, grass and some light malt. Very bitter. Some warming alcohol in the finish. A descent one.

Draught@SBWF2013. Yellowish golden colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, floral and also has some mild toffee and sweet maltiness to it. Flavour is sweet malts, some fruity and floral notes along with a nice earthy/grassy bitterness towards the finish. Mild toffee too. Hides the abv rather well, and in fact I’ve written "rather thin palate"...
