Menno from the Molen Brewery asked us to brew our approach of his beer "Vuur & Vlam", this for the occasion of his 2nd Borefts Beer Festival, which will be held next September 24 & 25th, in Bodegraven, Netherlands.

Note: Newest batch is dry-hopped with Cascade whereas earlier batches were dry-hopped with Amarillo.

Dark copper, hazy, with a sticky head. Smells a bit like a dubbel, caramel, malt and Belgian yeast, with an addition of vinegar. Bitter, from the hops, with a metallic taste and with notes of cane sugar, vinegar, white wine.

Shared with benny at my home. Hazy amber colored beer with medium white head and no carbonation visible. Nice malty spiced hopped aroma. Medium sparkling palate. Finish is bitter spiced dry.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoljub Ljubljana. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, sourish fruity and caramel in the nose. Sweetish malty, caramel, mild citrusy fruity and touch of alcohol with discreet hop bitterness in the finish.

Heerlijke IPA.

Bottle, 7%. Sweet and citric aroma, raisins, wood, acetic acid. Clear dark amber/brown colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour has a teaish hop note as in some IPAs but apart from that I do not get much IPA from this beer. Nevertheless, it is a great beer. Good hoppiness and a mild, woody tartness. Well-balanced and full-bodied.

Bottle. Pours clear darkish amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops, malt, fruit and pepper. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of citrus and touches of caramel malt. Acidic aftertaste with estery notes. Decent.

33cl bottle. Pours hazy amber with a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, some citrus marmalade, some sweet fruits. Taste is similar with a medium final bitterness. Some light hoppy flavors. Medium body, medium to strong carbonation. Disappointing.

Amber-copper colour, good head that leaves ring and lace. Aroma of chocolate, dried fruits, raisins, licorice, malt. Medium body, creamy palate, lively carbonation. Taste of chocolate, dried fruits, spices, malt, licorice, marzipan. It’s really good but I really can’t find any IPA character here.
