Hazy amber, nice lasting white head. Aroma fruity hops, lychees. Taste Fruity hops, not very bitter or dry, some yeast. Good body and carbo.

33cl bottle from Appellation Wines (Comely Bank). Pours a slightly cloudy red-amber. There;s a thin but attractive head. The nose has biscuits with a hint of toffee and a very vague fruit note, possibly apples. The taste has more toffee and biscuits then there’s an apple note that comes in at the end. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly well balanced finish. Overall, this makes me think more of a bitter or of an IPA with a lot of rye in it. It’s good though and the sum is somehow better than the individual parts.

Appearance: dark blonde beer, stable off white large head.
Nose: some spices, hops, very fresh.
Taste: hoppy, rather bitter and dry ending.

Bottle - 330ml. Cloudy amber body with a thin off-white creamy head. Rich, complex, well balanced hoppy aroma with malty, fruity, brown sugar, and herbal hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries woody, citrusy, and some yeasty notes. Ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Well done.

Décevante. Pas à la hauteur de la brasserie. Acide et sucrée caramel, ou est la flandre et la ipa?? Sucre d?orge au nez. Le corps est étrange, pas assez onctueux pour le sucre, trop veloutée pour une ipa.

Cold bottle. Red brown, no head. Struise’s version of Vuur and Vlam. Very different, and nowhere near as good. Taste is like a British old ale - not like an IPA at all. They haven’t captured any of the pungent and potent qualities of the Vuur. In saying that, it’s an OK ale in its own right. Malt heavy, biscuity. Disappointing - expectations were high.

Bottle at moeder lambic, st gilles. Dark amber color with thin to medium head. Low carbonation. Medium bitterness. Malt, hop and light yeast aroma.

Amarillo version. Pours murky and hazy yellow brown, loads of sediment and medium size head. Smells.. Floral stone fruit hops, malt, sweet and savory spices. Tastes..stone and darks fruits and quite malty as it warms up, definite spice hints.. ginger maybe. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours amber with huge off white head. Excessive carbonation. Hoppy and caramel aroma. Hoppy, spicy and bitter taste.

Bottle at Ales and Lagers, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin off white frothy head and some broken lace. The aroma is rich and a little malty. The flavour is medium bitter, malty, hoppy and a little spicy, which made me sneeze, so the spices are certainly there! It’s a very rich and smooth beer. Very satisfying.
