3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ Borefts Bier Festival 2010, Brouwerij de Molen, Overtocht 43, Bodegraven, Netherlands.
Unclear medium orange color with a large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus - orange, grapefruit, lime. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO, off the day for me the best Vuur & Vlam beer ;O)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Havnens, Vejle
bb 09/13, if that means brewed in 09/10, it’s 9 months old
Cloudy orange-amber color, with medium sized creamy head, persistent. The Amarillo dry hopping gives a very nice aroma, exclusively citrusy first, with grapefruit, a bit more creamy and soapy later, also with cedar. Good mouthfeel, well structured by a nice caramel flavor with dark toffee notes; quite strong bitterness although well blended together, and long final; the hopping provides some fruity resins. The final is quite persistent; a bit dusty too.
Quite well balanced, although a bit dirty probably because of the Belgian yeast character that underlines this beer.
