Drank at MesandSim’s wedding. Dark orange light brown in colour with a thin to medium off white head. Hops, peaches, yeast, more fruit. Dry hoppy finish. Love these guys.

Bottle @ Home. Pours hazy amber with a small offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruity hops, light citrus. Flavor is malt, fruity hops, wood, citrusnotes. Medium body, lively carbonation. 080513

Décevante. Pas à la hauteur de la brasserie. Acide et sucrée caramel, ou est la flandre et la ipa?? Sucre d?orge au nez. Le corps est étrange, pas assez onctueux pour le sucre, trop veloutée pour une ipa.

Cold bottle. Red brown, no head. Struise’s version of Vuur and Vlam. Very different, and nowhere near as good. Taste is like a British old ale - not like an IPA at all. They haven’t captured any of the pungent and potent qualities of the Vuur. In saying that, it’s an OK ale in its own right. Malt heavy, biscuity. Disappointing - expectations were high.

Amarillo version. Pours murky and hazy yellow brown, loads of sediment and medium size head. Smells.. Floral stone fruit hops, malt, sweet and savory spices. Tastes..stone and darks fruits and quite malty as it warms up, definite spice hints.. ginger maybe. Pretty good.

Bottle at Ales and Lagers, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin off white frothy head and some broken lace. The aroma is rich and a little malty. The flavour is medium bitter, malty, hoppy and a little spicy, which made me sneeze, so the spices are certainly there! It’s a very rich and smooth beer. Very satisfying.

Bottle, exp date Dec 2015, dry hopped with Cascade version. Pours a lovely cloudy dark amber beer with a huge off white head on top. Typical Struise look. Aroma is faint hoppy, spicey, can defintely smell the Cascade spiceyness. Flavour is medium bitter, has some light spicey notes with touches of pine and spruce. Medium lasting aftertaste, light mouthfeel and decent carbo. Decent IPA.

Bottle at Post Office Vaults. Rather flat. Very sweet malt, with toffee coated turnip springing to mind. Hops are pleasant, but not mind blowing and this is blatantly Belgian in flavour - I presume it’s the yeast that does this??? Perfectly nice, but not the hop hit I required at this precise moment.

Aroma is very subtle with some cascade yeastyness and quite some caramel. Beautiful hazy amber beer with big yellow head full of tiny bubbles. Nice bitterness with some nice pepper and ginger. Quite good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
