Draught @ Borefts Bier Festival 2011, Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands.

Dark black brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt. Aroma is quit weak .. or not impressiv. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, light sweet vanilla - chocolate, thin. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110923]

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, choccolate, alcohol, roasted malt, and cocoa beans, leading to a dry finish.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with no head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Chocolate, breadish and roasted. Sweet, breadish and chocolate bitter. Ends dry and bitter. Malty and chocolate finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque black with a light brown head. Sweet roasty nose, lots of raisins up there too, almost rummy. Solid body, sweet roast, but the dark dried fruits dominate, lots of dark chocolate - even marzipan and cherry, all stuff you wouldn’t really expect in an Imperial Stout. But this is....different. Roasty finish with quite some warming alcohol. Very enjoyable. 030312

Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2011. Black coloured with no head. Roasted aroma of dark chocolate, dried fruits and hops. Roasted flavour of dark chocolate, liquorice and hops. Roasted and hoppy finish.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate licorice aroma. Roasted malty smooth chocolate and licorice flavor with hints of caramel and toffee. Has a roasted malty chocoalte and licorice finish. with hints of caramel.

Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival, 2011. Pours black with a small head and lacings. Dark fruit, roast, coffee, oak and vanilla. Mellow, smooth and sippable. Nice.

(33cl bottle, courtesy of crusianbeer) Pours an opaque black body with a tall long lasting brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, lactose, bread, and raisins. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel.

Bottle in train, Belgium - Going from ACBF 2012. Pitch black - nice brown head. Burned. Dry burned. Berries. Carcoal. Fruity. Port wine. Oakey. Wooden. Tarmac notes. Nice hoppy. Lovely.
