330 ml bottle. Pours black with full, foamy, tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate powder and vanilla. Flavors of sweet coffee, roasted malts, and dark chocolate ice cream. Sharp and strong. Quite hot.

33cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a huge light brown creamy head. Roasted malts, wood, and hints of dark fruits on the nose. Incredibly intense taste: lots of wood notes, coffee, chocolate, ¡and yeast!, being the later what basically makes this brew really peculiar and different from other Imperial Stouts. Insignificant alcohol presence considering it’s 11.5%. A hoppy touch is noticeable after a while, along with some sugary notes. Creamy mouthfeel, perfect carbonation. Good stuff.

33 cl bottle served in a FFF teku. Received this an extra in a trade...can’t remember from who, but thanks! A: Pours a dark black color with a dark tan head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace down the glass. S: Fruity yeast with big notes of grapey port. Big oak with some roasted malt and nice chocolate notes.. The port mixed with the struise yeast makes this very fruit forward for a RIS. T: The barrel really comes through over the base beer. Huge notes of oak and port with a big roasted malt presences. Underlying notes of dark chocolate and fruity yeast, but the port barrel is the star of the show. M: Medium bodied with a smooth and fruity finish. Medium carbonation level. O: Nicely hidden booze with a big port barrel. I’ve had other port barrel beers and this was probably the most port heavy. It distracted slightly from the actually beer, but overall it was nice. 33cl bottle. Appearance: black beer, stable head. Nose: port, fruits, malts, some wood. Taste: caramel, burned malts, coffee, dark chocolate, mocha, alcohol warming feeling. Very much enjoyed this beer

The beer is black with an inch of oily beige head. Lots of slick lacing visible on the sides of the snifter. The aroma brings port, oak, roast, chocolate, vanilla. Some noticeable booze. Big, thick, rich. Palate coating. Big time sweetness imparted from the port barrels. Red wine with a chocolate finish. This is tasty now, but I think this will mellow out nicely given more time in the cellar.

Bottle from De Molen online shop. Dark black body with thin, roasty head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, roasty malts, dairy notes. Taste is roasty malts, with licorice, espresso, nuts, and milky flavours in the finish. Quite a really nice blend.

Pours a pitch black colour with a beautiful brown head. Aroma of strong roasted malts, sourish berries, red wine and wood. Flavour is intense with roasted and probably burnt malts, stinging red wine, tannine, wood, bread and strong yeastiness as well. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a warming, oily, roasty and rich finish. Overall a pungent, vineous and heavy imperial stout.

Bottle, bought @ Etre Gourmet. Pours opaque black with a lovely, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has chocolate, vinious, apple, light roasted. Medium carbonation, fine dry and very creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has dark chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, vinious, light smoked. Mild astringency and malty bitter finish. Very nice.
