2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Pours a murky nougat brown body with a small off-white head. Nose is earthy leafy grass tones, hints of licorice, ground coffee and caramel. Not my thing. Taste is earthy tones of caramel, dusty chocolate and some hard-to-describe, almost meat-like tones. Medium bitter finish. Like many weizen bocks, this is a strange brew. Despite a smooth and nice mouthfeel, I give more points for originality than deliciousness here. And once again, I can’t find any barrel aging signs here. Bourbon? Where?

On tap @SWBF12. Hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, bread and spices. The flavor follows the nose. General impression is malty sweet with a matching bitterness. Hard to sample this in between all the big Struise beers

@BBF12. Pours cloudy copper with a beige head. Aroma is roasted caramel, bourbon, oak vanilla and fruit. Flavour is roasted breaddy malt, bourbon, oak, vanilla and dark fruit.

From tap @Borefts 2012. Cloudy brown. Small beige head. Moderate aroma of dark bread, dark caramel and mild roast. Taste is peppery, creamed dark caramel. Some rather unfresh earthy sidenotes. Spicy bitterness. Strange brew.

Poured with a dark brown color and a tan head. Dark fruits, peach, raisins, yeast and hints of chocolate in the aroma. Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation.

Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Pours an unclear and brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is malt, caramel, bread and spices. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness with some bitterness. Overall a good beer.

On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours cloudy brown with a creamy, tan cap. Tangy wheat nose with notes of berries and wood. Big sweet flavor with dry wood, ripe fruits, leather and light dirt. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with tangy fruits, toasty sugars and dry berries. Interesting beer. Not bad.

Tasted at the 4th BBF @ de Molen. Hazy brown pour. Aroma of dried fruits, alcohol, spices. Flavor is bitter, alcohol, bourbon, spicy. A bit rough. Decent body.
