3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a beautifully hazy amber color with a lasting creamy head. Nose is typical DIPA with wood, nuts, caramel, honey and citrus/grapefruit. Taste isn’t extremely bitter: the bitterness is indeed balanced by sweet and citrusfruits, spiciness, sugar and caramel, although it really breaks through in the aftertaste, which is long-lasting, especially alongside and at the back of the tongue. Medium body and carbonation. Taste and nose develop more sweetness and the beer thereby gets more drinkable when warming up, but the bitterness stays.

Sheeto peeto, I had no idea this was a DIPA when I bought it, I just liked the idea of it being a RateBeer special. God knows how old this is, but with no date stamp, Struise gets what they get. OK, here goes. Bottle. Pours clear ruby hazel with a medium tan head, creamy, slowly dissipating with nice lacing in its wake. Aroma is malty, herbal, pine, spruce. Flavor is interesting - strongly bitter with underlying sweetness A rye-like bite to it as well. Finish is bitter, far finish is bitter. Not a lot of hop aromatics left here, mostly pine cones and herbs, but there is a ton of those IBU still floating around. Not a lot of sweetness, but boy it is certainly hot. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Ahhhhh, well. I have spent $7.99 in more intelligent ways before in my life.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Taste has plenty of hop flavor of course, but also a nice malt backbone. Very complex, with different flavors hitting your palate at different times. Initial blast of hops, with some yeasty esters, and spiciness in the middle. Finishes with some sweet malt and healthy dose of bitterness. Hop resins coat the mouth for a few minutes, making this one a nice sipper.

33cl bottle. Hazy orange/brown with medium head. Nose : barnyard, heavy yeast notes, cheese, pine, citrus zest, orange juice, nuts. Sip : thick body with low carbonation. Sweet tart covered by strong citrus seeds like bitterness. Fresh pine and other citrus notes. Bitterness ends with earthy and clove aromas. Good brew.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice collaboration of two great breweries. The beer is very hoppy, but with a profound yeasty sweetness. It has some tones of sugary fruit such as melon as well. I liked it, but it was a bit too sweet.
