Struise-Mikkeller is as we said in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with 130 IBU (Batch I), 150 IBU (Batch II), 163 IBU (Batch III), 216 IBU (Batch IV), but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars.

Pours a hazy orange/brown with a lofty light tan head. The smell is caramel, floral hops. The taste is tart & tangy fruit, licorice. Body is medium and a bit oily with nice subtle carbonation.

Pours with the biggest rockiest most lasting head I have seen in ages. Aroma is sweet caramel, fruity hops with no edge, a bit soapy, freshly risen dough.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Pours alloy orange with off-white, almost tan, two-finger head. A robust looking beer. Aroma is very piney, with some alcohol and hints of citrus and strawberry. Palate is wonderful, small bubbles create a velvety mouth-feel. Taste is predominantly pine with some grassy hops and a balanced bitterness also some sweet caramel-malt. Beautifully rounded beer.

Cloudy amber beer with a decent, off-white head. Fresh and earthy aroma with some mix of grassy and alpha hop. Bitter and lightly malty, with some citrus and dry-grassy notes. Refreshing. Alcohol fairly well hidden. Not as bitter as I would have thought for a double IPA, but I think that works out for the best. Not my favorite Struise effort, but even their experiments excel.

Somewhat murky brown body and stable off white head. Good malt base, humous, pine trees, bit nutty. Not as hoppy as expected. Pretty strong taste, bitter and sweet in large amounts. Light acidity in the end, as well as some alcohol. 2013 bottle but I expected much more freshness from a 213IBU Double IPA. Poor beer. (33cl bottle from Dranken Geers)
