Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque golden with a white head. Fresh fruity nose, with some yeast and a little friendly phenols. Medium body, a slightly tart, fresh fruitiness - even a little overripe - oranges? Ends dry - again with friendly phenols. Enjoyable. 030312

Bottle. Pours a cloudy blonde beer with a big, white fluffy head. Aroma is soapy, but also a bit smelly. Some vegetables and flowers. Interesting. Flavor is medium sweet, faint hoppy, with decent carbonation and a bit of a watery palate. Decent beer fit such a low abv beer.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2013 bottle. aroma is a peculiar combination of wet earthy herbs, dusted with some pine and lemongrass. backed by a old pineapple and melon dough. taste is bright lemon kissed cracker and a touch of soft herbal dough. kinda weird. kinda good.

Strongly recommended by the barman as the ’best Struise’ that he’s had. Bottle - poured into a tulip, chilled, orange yellow, no head. The taste…is of a slighly-more-hoppy-than-normal lager. Tastes as though it only has the single hop which is pictured in the cartoon. I’m afraid it’s going to get a lager rating, because it’s essentially a lager. A decent one though.

Bottle 33cl, a light cloudy copper beer with low head. Nose is on apricot and fermented grapes. Aroma is very fruity on apricot, blackcurrant, sweet grapes, floral on violette, green lemon, touch of triple beer such as wheat astringency. Gassy and spycy hops, finish is again on apricot and lemon.

Sample at the struise tasting at the klooster. Thin white head. Hazy golden blond pour. Nice refreshing bitterness. Nice brew.

33cl bottles, Geers. - Smooth and light, perfect for summer fruity ale. If this is single-hopped, then that NZ Motuecha is one hard-working mf of a hop: not sure if it’s DSB’s stock sweet malt&yeast base, but rather than a fruit basket, this tastes sweet like a a bowl of canned exotic fruits (on syrup): peach in its own juice, apple, lychee and candied citrus. Not ultimately refreshing, but exceptionally smooth, light and a pleasure to start a summer sipping session with.

Bottle 33cl at home from Saveur-Drink Lille. Colour is blond cloudy with a nice white foam quite compact and which falls slowly. The nose is nice some hoppy, grapefruits, lemon flavours. Taste is a bit disappointed not as bitter as I thought but it well done of course. Not exceptionnal but nice beer easily drinkable with only 5% ABV.
