Bottle at the Williamsburg Gathering. Given as a gift ay Zythos ’06 by the very generous lachesis. Thanks Carlo! Labeled as 125. Corked and crowned 1L magnum with a difficult almost plastic-like substance sealing it. Hazy gold. Tall fizzy white head. Aroma is odd. Some yeast, semi-sweet notes, dried fruits, light funk, sweet malt, and spices. Light bready notes as well. Taste has more yeasty flavors along with spices, fruit (melons and apple), some earthiness and bread and funk. Very dry bodied. Fizzy with light chalkiness in spots. Ends with more spice, fruits, earth tones, yeast, funk and grains/bread. Different but tasty! I think it grew on most as we drank it.

Earthy, buttery and fruity notes in the very dry aroma. Very dry and fruity taste with notes of pear, apple and caramel. Full bodied with a slightly sticky texture.

Hazy yellow color, small creamy white head. Fruity-citrusy aroma. Candy sugary, fruity, a bit earthy flavor. Nice, but not outstanding blonde.

Bottle @ the RBESG08 Grand Tasting.
Pours a hazy pale yellow with slight green hue. Big, frothy, white head. Not that appealing - and looks rather weak. But just the aroma! Powerful fruitiness, lots of apples, oranges and yeast. Fine oily mouthfeel. Flavour is vinious, yeasty, lots of red apples, nice oranges. Fine, light tartness and malty power. Impressive that something that unimpressive in looks can have that much power.

Cloudy yellow coloured, huge airy white head, not so pleasant tart fruity nose. Yeasty and fruity taste with notes of spices and herbs. Alcohol is well hidden.

2005 version? not sure. Poured a murky yellow colour with a huge white head that took its time to go away. Lemony nose, some funkiness. The taste is maybe just slightly too sweet. Lemony, yeasty, slightly funky, some alcohol. Pleasant enough!

Bottled at RBESG. Cloudy pale golden, airy head. Yeasty nose with biter orange and vanilla. Sweet and surprisongly spritzyand light feeling for a 10% beer. There’s warming alcohol underneath cottony vanilla and citrus. Low bitterness. An elegant peppery lively beer.
