afireinside96 (341), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA May 4, 2008 bottle served in a tulip. pours a deep brown color with a thin tan head. nose is full of spices and alcohol. flavor is very sweet with brown sugar and toffee being the base flavors with hints of fig, nuts, and cinnamon. alcohol is well hidden in the taste and only appears as a bit of warmth. quite good and like the rater before me I am now very interested in trying the real deal.
RomanW70 (280), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jul 20, 2008 An interesting take on one of my favorite beers. Beautiful aroma of cocoa, dark fruits, licorice, roast, ad wine. The only real difference I can detect from the original Pannepot is a less pronounced chocolate character and a more pronounced dark fruit character. Regardless, an amazingly tasty beer. colemgm8 (355), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jul 19, 2008 bottle. pours a dark brown with a 1/4" tan head. dark fruit aromas... so smooth over the palate. a true pleasure to drink. extremely soft from front to back... the fruit notes come alive on palate. plums and raisins are most present. wonderful malt character.... overall an extremely well balanced and smooth beer. mybestfriend (241), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 19, 2008 2006 Bottle at Haket. Pours a dark brown colour with a pale head. The aroma is very fruity - overripe plums, dried fruit, milk chocolate, some liqueur. Very complex. The flavour is sweet, complex and very fruity with notes of overripe plums, dried fruit, milk chocolate, spices and some bitterness in the finish. Yummy! Scauca (213), Lovere, Italy Jul 19, 2008 Dark brown with a disappearing tan head. Even if i’ve drank just 2 bottles of this one and several of the "straight" one, i rate Pannepøt some decimals more, because I’ve founded less licorice in it and lot more berries and fruits and malty sweetness, ’though a bit ethilic when poured. Chocolate and spices complete the whole, along with several other things i’m sure i can’t detect. Full sipping body, a pleasure. Doppelganger (1086), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jul 17, 2008 Bottle, at cgarvieuk’s, with Stella, the kids, and Traci. Really great tasting Craig—thanks! Esp nice of you to pull this one out to share with me, even though you’d had it already. Deep brown, nice layer of tan head. Peppermint, dark resiny chocolate and mahogany aroma. Sweet resiny caramel flavor, milk chocolate, hints of spice around the edges. Just a little lingering sweet. Not sure if I could tell this from Pannepot blind, but that’s not a bad thing at all.
