COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival ’Københavnske Øldage 2006’ exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer’s popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

Sumptuous aroma of dark fruits, herbal notes, molasses, and floral undertones. Very well layered and enticing. The taste is a bit more one-dimensional, with a mild, fruity sweet being run over by malty bitter. Medium-to-thin mouthfeel, with subtle carbonation and a runny palate. Don’t get me wrong, though — somehow, it works. It must be that beautiful nose.

2013 vintage, 33cl bottle @ home. Pours very dark ruby brown with a large beige head. Aroma is caramel, plums, raisins, yeast and generally dark fruits. The falvour is sweet with yeasty notes and heavy on the dark fruits. The carbonation is soft, finish is balanced. To be enjoyed sipping.

Opaque mahogany. Great aroma of dark fruit, plum, alcohol, flavor of figs, prunes, blackberries, quite sweet.

330ml bottle pobres in a chatice. A: Pours a Dark amber to brown colour with a huge beige head which dissipates quickly leaving many nicel lacings. However never disappears totally leaving a thin bubbled payed on the top S: Smell is very sweet and fruity. Mainly raisins and dates. Reminds a red wine. Absolutely delicious mix of sugar candy and Belgian yeasts. Some honey, some spices and also some hops T: Delicious taste. Very candy and fruity. Raisins and date fruits. Sweet upfront followed by a mild bitter aftertaste. Reminds a red flemish ale, but stronger. Once again, delicious M: Heavy creamy molasses body. Medium to low carbonation. Sweet upfront and mild bitter aftertaste O: Absolutely drinkable beer. Struise quality. By the way, the one that I’ve drunk had Pannepeut written in the label, and not Pannepøt like the one in the photo... [ BA Review @ 2/17/2012 ]

Bottle, vintage 2008, enjoyed six years after bottling. Pours brown with a small reddish hue, and a finger thick creamy mocha head. Aroma is tremendously nice and malty with chocolate and nuts, as well as kandi, coffee and muscovado. Full creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is just incredible! Enormously complex, yet simply balanced to perfection. The roasted malts have chocolate, oak and leather notes, as well as nice dark fruits giving way to oaky wood and coffee in the finish.

On tap at O’Connors, as Pannepeut 2011. Brown with little head. Aroma of brown malts, alcohol, raisins and dark dried fruits. Taste is rich and boozy, raisins, plums, dried fruit and sweet dark malt. Very nice

love all the versions of Pannepot, but honestly have a hard time scoring them different. Even had a head to head a couple times and they’re all just so nice.

Draft @ basement beer bar in Aalborg. Amazing caramel aroma with overripe red berries, dried dark fruit, alcohol. Reddish brown with tiny off-white head. Quite sweet, more fruit. Soapy texture, great body, finish is longlasting, light carbonation.

10%ABV. Belgian Strong Ale. No head. Nose is full of nutmeg, stewed prunes, sweet dates and candied fruit. There is also a hint of what is described as gula melaka which is a thick brown sugary syrup made from coconut flowers. Very pleasingly sweet with a unctuous fragrance. charming without being cloying. First mouthful is lightly carbonated so you don’t get too much tongue on the first kiss. This is a surprisingly balanced strong ale with just enough alcoholic heft and a strong malty back for the heavy lifting. There are constant reminders that this is a strong ale. Sipping this is like having a 250lb, heavily-muscled, slightly dusty carpenter smelling of tobacco and old leather edging you out of your spot at the bar, daring you to say something. Nice short and polite finish of bitter hops leaving the palate clean for another go around.

Dark straw color on pour a bit cloudy aroma is a malt/aged fruit. Taste is full and bold but not hot in relation to ABV. Candied malt and some dried coriander linger on the palate in a nice crisp finish.
