Commercial Description:
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

A dark brown belgian ale full of aroma representing oaked age and sweet malty fruit. Taste is full of bite in the use of bready yeast, soury sensibility, and woody brown sugar. Char is noticeable from the calvados barrels. Great retention and full head.

2005@Volo, shared with Denver Dave.. Aroma is balsamic vinegar, mixed fruit and brown sugar, inviting murky brown, small tan head. A complexity of flavours, a few being raisins, pitfruits, pomegranates, loads of malt. Medium bodied, sour/tart, dry, yet oh so drinkable, most satisfying. Scrumptious!

33 cl bottle - 2005 vintage; thanks to Sammy for the trade; pours very dark amber with thin tan head; rich aromas of wood, bourbon, candy, sugar and dank fruit; a slight tartness like the danish version and rich flavors of spice, raisins and fruit; dry and mild sour finish; very oaky and sweet; pretty damn good, but a little bit of a letdown as i wasn’t blown away by the flavors or texture

12 oz. bottle, thanks Brad! Deep mahogany pour with really nice creamy lacing. Initial blast of single malt scotch whiskey. Tofee comes in quite a bit as it warms. Creamy and rich. A booziness can easily be detected from the get-go. The biggest weakness here is a strange astringent bitterness around the edges, which comes off as almost sour and simply doesn’t belong in this brew. It’s really rich, creamy, has alot of nice components, but certainly didn’t all seem to come together right. Not as good as the normal Pannepot.

Tasted from the bottle at the Kulminator in Antwerp. Dark reddish hues with a tan head. Flavors predominant of dried fruit, raisin, licorice, almond. On the sweeter side with a very full smooth mouthfeel. Very god indeed.

Bottled(330ml). -Courtesy of Papsoe, shared with Doggythedog (thanks both of them for giving and sharing)
Vintage 2005. Ruby dark redish coloured, pale brown head, fruity light caramel nose. Sherry, vinous fruity and alcoholic taste with notes of raisins and spices. Interesting but...
