COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Thanks to fredrik and Ludvig! 2008 bottle. Very dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma: malty, sweet licorice, apples and calvados, light chocolate, vanilla. Taste: Basset’s Liquorice Allsorts and other sweet licorice, chocolate, malty, fudge. Full bodied. Wow, this is tasty!
2005 bottle. Aroma: chocolate and lots of vanilla, less licorice than in the 2008. Taste: vanilla, cherries, rowan berries, licorice, more sour than the 2008, also some sort of sour candy. Medium to full bodied. On its own, the 2005 bottle would receive a lower rating due to the sour red berries in the taste. Nothing wrong, I just prefer the other. (8-9/4/8/4/16=4.0-4.1)

2010 vintage. Opaque dark brown with a finger-high tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is sweet with dried fruits, spices and hints of chocolate. Taste is sweet, dried fruits, dates, caramel, chocolate, lightly roasted, growing bitterness, hints of alcohol. Long, bitter-sweet, boozy finish. Medium-big body, medium carbonation. Tasty!

5.12.2014. Vintage 2009. Very dark brown, slightly oily texture. Intense aroma with dark fruits, plums, malts. Taste is smooth, carbonated (more than reserva), plenty of dark fruits. Warmth of alcohol which is well hidden though.

2009 vintage at OBX in a snifter... Deep mahogany with dark tan head. Dark fruit, plums, raisins, vanilla, toasted oakiness... Taste follows, multilayered, complex, well balanced. Great variation on a favorite Belgian strong ale...

Tykk konsistens.

33cl bottle at home. Dark brown with almost no head. Medium to full body with low carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitter tones. Roasted malts, dark fruits, vanilla, oak, caramel, brown sugar and herbs. A decent full flavoured brew.

I'm amazed over the high point for this beer. It is tannic and overly oaked. A bit oxidized (ever so slightly) has an unpleasant bitterness to the palate. This is one of my biggest disappointments.

A special treat from Peter in Frape - I had the 2012 edition - Very dark red color with thick firm coffee brown head. Sweet herby nose with sherry (?). The aroma is sweet with spices, caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with dried plum, herbal spices and caramel. Alcohol is hidden, body is thick enough to carry all this complexity. Close to perfection.
