"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a beige head. The aroma and taste is of sweet malt, dark fruits, wood and some alcohol. Medium to full body with a sweet fruity finish.

330 ml bottle. Bought in La mise en biere in Lausanne. Got the 2010 edition. Smell: chocolate, alcohol, sour, wine, wood, almonds. Dark color with brown head. Sour reserved taste, obviosly oaked. Made me thought in a Petrus oaked beer, but this one is better. Not my cup of tea, but is well made.

Huge thanks to Travlr for the chance to have some Struise beers. At 10 years old, Pannepot was the oldest of the Struise beers Gene sent to us. It was also the best. Pannepot poured dark brown and was, remarkably, quite heady. Big candy aroma. Taste was amazingly complex. Syrup, buttery cocoa, dark fruits, vinous grape, juicy red grape, toasted malt. Feel was warm and soft. Beautiful drinking experience all around. I never would’ve guessed something with this much age could be so good.

(Thanks, Gene! "Travlr") A- Dark fruits, port wine, subtle booze, oak, chocolate truffles. A- Dark brown black color, dark liquid, off white head. T- Dark fruits, cherries, chocolate syrup, chocolate truffles, caramel, molasses, raisins. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- Had a Vintage 2005, so 10 years old. And it was outstanding. The complexity of what this bottle showed was nothing short of delicious. Very happy to have tried it but now very sad it’s gone.

Dark brown body and small head. Aromatic beer, complex, very rich but and indeed not restraint yet balanced perfectly. It does lose some of the character of the normal version, with foresty freshness, but it is replaced with better aging. This development time give a great aroma mostly, but also helps smoothen out the edges. I would have liked it a bit sweeter, but that’s personal. (33cl bottle from QV.ID)

Vintage 2010. Pours dark brown, brown head. Some roasted notes in there, lots of flavours going on in this beer. Tastes really great

2010 grand reserva. Dark brown, modest head, oily. A: very intense, deep aroma. Cherry bonbons, caramel malts, bock, hint of whisky, dark chocolate. T: deep, robust taste. Cherry bock start, oily mouthfeel. Development reminds of red porto, ends with chocolate, red fruits. Aftertaste is surprisingly neutral. Such a nice balance. Top.
