"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

330ml brown bottle. Black colour, off white head is stained by yeast flecks. Decent lacing. Nose is slightly winey, notes of alcohol, some cherries, slight woody notes. Flavour has cherry and wood notes up front, hint of chocolate, soft fruity notes. Dry and woody finish. Aftertaste is very oaky, woody, lingering dark cherry fruit notes. Full body, tight precise carbonation on the tounge. Overall, strong, woody and winey and very pleasing. Great extension to the Pannepot brand.

Dark wood coloured, though little head and no lacing. Body is full and smooth with some gentle underlying carbonation. Complex, well balanced and very drinkable. Dried fruit, dark malt, nuts, banana cake, plums, star anise, brown sugar, caramel, port. Great.

33cl bottle. Dark ruby-brown pour with a thin tan head. Smells like caramel, raisins and other dried fruit, a bit of chocolate. The taste follows the same notes, with additional milk coffee, nuts and spices. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation and a sticky, spicy aftertaste. Quite complex yet very well balanced.

Acquired via trade with Chopz. BB 04/05/19. PNP No.4 vintage 2009. 330ml bottle. Pours a fair size frothy beige head that dissipates to a thin coating. Has a dark murky brownish appearance with sediments quite visible. Lacing is a bit weak. Aromas are strong spice, yeast, coffee and dried type fruits. Flavours are in the same vein but much more varied it’s quite crazy. Lots of different flavours at various points like chocolate, raisins, figs, dates, strong spice notes. Coffee in the finish. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Slick and drying sensation as well as a nice warming sensation the longer it sits. At 10%abv, very well hidden. Quite easy to drink actually. Pretty good stuff!

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2016 2011 edition. Strong wooden, earthy, liquorice, old grapes, chocolate, red fruits and a bit alcoholic aroma. Nice brown colour with an off-white head, but fastfood vanishing. Nice carb. Complex taste of a lot of flavours including chocolate, malts, champagne, port, red fruits,... Tinckling on the tongue, alcoholic and sweet. A bit of sour grape notes. Aftertaste is a bit dry and includes chocolate, oak, fruits and malts. Really great!

Vintage 2011. Unclear dark brown. Thin tan head. Layers upon layers of complexity make each sip a pleasure. A very harmonious creation. Quite unique as well. No booze. Great sipper.

Aroma is caramel, alcohol, lots of sugar and wood. Color is pure dark brown, small tanned head. Taste is superb, pretty sweet, heavy hops... excellent. Full body, pretty smooth and thin texture, low carbonation. Overall... one of the best Belgian Strong Ales.

0.33 l bottle from ’The Beer Tree’, 2010 vintage, bottled in November 2014. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan to light brown head. Sweetish, fruity, a little spicy and slightly boozy aroma of raisins, plums, caramel, cinnamon, marzipan, clove, overripe banana, apples (calvados) and oak. Sweet-malty, slightly sourish-fruity and a little spicy taste of raisins, plums, caramel, overripe banana, chocolate, marzipan, cinnamon, clove, apples (calvados) and some oak, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, sourish, moderately yeasty-spicy and minimally warming finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nicely balanced, very interesting barrel notes, very complex and drinks way too easy. Absolutely delicious!
