4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330ml brown bottle. Black colour, off white head is stained by yeast flecks. Decent lacing. Nose is slightly winey, notes of alcohol, some cherries, slight woody notes. Flavour has cherry and wood notes up front, hint of chocolate, soft fruity notes. Dry and woody finish. Aftertaste is very oaky, woody, lingering dark cherry fruit notes. Full body, tight precise carbonation on the tounge. Overall, strong, woody and winey and very pleasing. Great extension to the Pannepot brand.

Serving: Bottle from State Line Liquors. 2005 vintage. It pours a dark, hazy brown with a thin tan ring. Huge nose full of dark dried fruit, vanilla, and calvados. Luxuriant mouthfeel with notes of leather, dried cherries, dark caramel, vanilla, spices, and calvados. The high abv dries things out on the back end. Long finish. Superb beer.

Bottle @ Il Porco, Corbetta. Corposa, carbonata e molto rotonda. é alcolica ma non fastidiosa. Equilibrata e molto armonica. Capolavoro.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Brasserie V. Unfiltered thick, viscous brown-burgundy. Oily thin residue of a head, but hey, it’s almost seven years old. Semi-boozy Calvados aroma, some sweet oaky caramel too. The Calvados barrels really shine, sort of overwhelming at first. Big and a lot of sweet depth. Rather balanced and subdued after a few sips, in a Belgian way. Broad range of barrel tones begin to show, with big, sweet oak and an almost Grand Marnier-like quality of the Calvados. A real quality, memorable beverage. Mellows and the oaky caramel really starts to come out. Maybe one of the better barrel aged Belgians I’ve ever had, sort of connecting the old school Belgian quality with new school innovation. Quite awesome, World Class.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottle bought @ bieresgourmet.be. 2008 vintage. Pours hazy dark ruby reddish brown with a creamy and tiny bubbly brownish beige head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, tiny sour and malty with toasted malts, oatmeal cookies, dusty cereal, pears, port wine, moist wood, tingling alcohol, biscuits, grape juice, dates, figs, prunes, caraway, coriander, curacao, dark rum and hints of high quality balsamic vinegar. Taste is slightly sweet, tiny bitter, very tiny tart and amity with crackers, cereal, biscuits, port wine, moist wood, hay, coriander, curacao, dates, prunes, alcohol, grape juice, oatmeal cookies, baked pears, canned peaches and hints of regular low quality red wine. Mouthfeel is round, soft, tiny tart, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, tiny sour and malty with crackers, cereal, biscuits, port wine, dates, alcohol, hay and oatmeal cookies. Excellent beer, I like it more than the regular reserva, atlas when comparing this one to the one bottle of reserva I’ve tried.
