"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Bottle 2008 vintage. Bought this some time ago and have only just got around to drinking it. The wait was worth it. Dark brown with a small head.Lovely port like flavour with a gentle creaminess running through it. Amazingly smooth for its strength-wanted the bottle to last forever. Brilliant.

Hauled this 2009 bottle back from Bruges, Belgium. Pours dark brown in my glass with some purple showing in the edges where the light comes through. Small off white head that disappears pretty quickly. Aroma of dark fruits, figs, plums, light molasses and even chocolate, candi sugar. Flavor is sweet plums and figs, molasses, brown sugar, light chocolateyness, and a smooth nuttiness from the barrel. Age showing a bit here with some oxidization going on. Thick body, low plus carbonation, really rich and palate coating. Nice beer but would like to try one a bit fresher as this wasn't nearly the level of Reserva or even the regular version. Still yummy though, which speaks to how good those are.

Très bon palais, avec différents goûts d’épices. Légère une fois avalé, puis l’arrière goût arrive avec un goût de calvados mélangé à d’autres goût . Très bonne Bière, bien équilibré. Ressemble par certains aspect à une bière de Noël

Bottle 2009. Mixed aroma, hints of stout-like roasted malt and some stronger alcohol which I guess is the calvados oak barrel touch. First impression is its amazing palate. Complex taste, lots of spices with a fruity shade.

2009 bottle. Black, almost no head. Brandy and dark fruit aromas. Flavor is heavy on the dark fruits. Carbonation low, body medium thin. Drinkable but interesting.

2009 vintage, 5 years old, pours a cloudy dark brown brew with a medium brown head with poor retention, aroma is moderate to heavy sweet and low bitter with apple, caramel, clove, oak, dried fruits and dark fruits, robust bodied, smooth, good balance, flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and low bitter with a sweet finish and a medium aftertaste, very good, compared with the reserva is mire complex, a bit less balanced, much less acidic, and has stronger oak notes.

Bottle from De Bierkoning shared with esp0r, edvard and Simonsen at The "Esp0r #2000 Weekend in The Woods" 2014. Dark brown redtinted body with a creamy tanned head. Aroma of ripe plums, caramel, sherry, forest berries. Notes of chocolate, vanilla, oak. Taste of dark fruits, sweet chocolate and vanilla, roasted malt, slightly tart cherries, yeast. Hint of alcohol in the finish, with an extremely delightful sherry, chocolate and coffee aftertaste. Awesome!

Small format 2005 brown bottle poured into a glass. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is dark candy sugar, meidum body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is a lot of candy sugar, dark fruit, some barrel, and hints of alcohol. It was good, but I would suspect this was past peak.
