Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 20, 2007 Celebrating 8500 ratings with the currently 4th highest rated beer. A very deer red (bourgundy) beer with a medium sized brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of fruits both dried and fresh, caramel, malt, alcohol, and spices among them cinnamon and cloves, something also reminds me of edible roots. The flavor is very sweet and very powerful with notes of over ripe fruits, spices (cinnamon, cloves and more), caramel, malt, alcohol, and brown sugar leading to a sweet and smooth, but at the same time with a slight dryness from the wood finish. The alcohol runs along and tickles the palate and gives it a nice body. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden May 17, 2007 Updated: Jul 5, 2007Bottled at Københavnske Øldage. Cloudy dark brown, dense head. Intense arousing aroma of raspberry and wood. Earthy, soft and mild. There’s cherry and wood. Deep complex earthy buttery malt character. The oak barrel character is restrained, just adding complexity to an already complex beer. Instead it is driven by superb malt flavours and esters. Mild, soothing and fruity, Westvleteren 12 like, as I remember it from the first time I tried it. Ultrasuperb - one of the very best beers I’ve ever had the opportunity to try. Papsoe (10417), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 9, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Urbain & lachesis. Pours an unclear, dark brown with an orange tint and a smooth, creamy, off-white head. Sweetish, vinous aroma with lots of caramel, overripe fruit, some spiciness and a very distinct, warming alcohol. Very rich and full body with huge caramel accents, wood, brown sugar and overripe fruit. Very warming alcohol. 170507 yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 30, 2007 CBF07 sample from 75 cL bottle, placed on the RB table by the crazy Belgian brewers who drove alle Saturday to come to Copenhagen with this treat, cheers!
