COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew collegue Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.

Absolut världsklass. Lagrats till det bättre. Kjellander tjatar om vem som är fullast egentligen. Han vinner. Fantastisk kanderad sötma. Hell yeah

Bottle 0.75l at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. 2006 vintage. Colour is reddish brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Dark fruits, plums, Belgian yeast, wood and sourness. Reminds me of red wine.

2009 bottle slightly chilled. black pour, darker than expected, poor head retention. Quite full bodied. Slightly sharp to start. Typical raisins, slight coffee, semi dry finish. Taste is like a less intense version of their XXXX - nice but less sweet with a more complex finish. Very nice beer overall.

2008 Bottle. An opaque light cola brown with a small off-white head, lots of sediment. Aroma is heavy caramel, sweet red wine, port, apples, dark fruits. This is one I can just keep smelling for hours. Taste is a little bit of a letdown, medium sweet with loads of caramel, a slight bitterness, not very complex. Finish is disappointingly weak. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Still though, one of the best smelling beers I’ve ever had.

Dark beer with creamy foam head that is stable and long lasting on the beer. Great fresh taste with balanced hop bitterness that is in harmony with the alcohol level of this beer. ---Rated By the Belleketels

Dark mudda. Aroma is fruit (tangerine, orange) and some spice. Taste is lovely - the same as the regular pannepot, but the fruits don’t predomindate quite as much here, which I prefer. The reserva has a richness and deepness unlike any other strong ale i’ve had. Overall, one of my favourite strong ales, and one i’d get again.

2009 vintage tasted alongside 2011 Pannepot and 2011 Pannepeut. 33 cL bottle from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Chicago, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy chestnut with a tiny tan head that fades to a few bubbles. The nose has notes of sour fruit and oak along with caramel, plum, vermouth, caramel and subtle chocolate. The flavour is moderately sweet with toasty malts, molasses, oak and subtle spice. There is a subtle sour note that persists in the background. The finish is long and malty with oak and dark fruit. On the palate it is medium-full with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a tasty and elegant chocolatey, oaky strong ale. Very tasty. 2013-03-14
