The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew collegue Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.

bottle shared by minderbinder, thanks brah! pours hazy dark brown, red tint, with a minimal light beige head and some lacing. spicy dried fruitiness soaked in brandy-like oakiness, raisins, tobacco, bit of dirt, sweetness - finger-licking brown sugar, spices and molasses. lively to average carbonation, light to medium body - oily, never too sticky, assertive and astringent grassy-herbal-peppery-spicy finish. very good - but i still prefer regular pannepot and pannepeut.

From a 2006 bottle at Zeebra II. Dark brown colour, a bit hazy, with a thin brown head on top. Good retention, light lacing left behind. Aroma of red stewed fruits, a bit of vanilla, prunes. Taste of red and dark fruits, some spices like cardamon and light coriander, again some vanilla mainly on the finish, heav on caramel. Medium body, carbonation with a bite, dry feeling on the palate. Overall a quite tasty beer, highly drinkable, makes you return for another sip.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, röstig, dunkles reifes Obst. Geschmack röstmalzig, stark malzig, überreife Früchte, Karamell.

Bottle shared by esp0r with me, Simonsen & Edvard, september 28th 2013, thanks a lot! Dark brown, redtinted, with light brown head. Aroma of toffee, cocoa, prunes, spices. An ever changing comples taste starting with coffee and dark sugar, going through dark chocolate, berries, raisins, pine, pepper, bready malt. Excellent and a joy to experience. Alcohol is pretty well hidden for a 10%, still giving a warm feel towards the end, where the beer feels more fruity together with hints of oak. This is one of the beers that just make you smile. I love it!
