Commercial Description:
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew collegue Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.
Latest bottling: april 08

Bottle @ ChristianScheffel. [thank you Christian!]
Wow! Pours a dark brown with slight ruby edges. Big fine beige creamy beige head. Aroma is fantasticly complex, vanilla comes as the first impression - oak in itself is difficult to discern. There are plums, raisins, alcohol and belgian sugars. Stunning creamy palate. Flavour is great - the wood enhances all factors in the beer. Vanilla is again very present, prunes, raisins, sugar, some chocolate. Brilliant!

I cannot thank sk8viking enough for sharing this fantastic beer! A true honour! The aroma is very complex, it has figs, prunes, wood, alcohol and a bit of vanilla. It poors a dark brown head. The flavor has a lot of figs, caramel, oak and vanilla - it’s a beer very dominated by the fruit. You can also taste the alcohol - it warms. A very well-balanced beer.

75cl bottle, with a BIG THANKS to sunevdj! Pours a dark brown with ruby highlights; sizable tan head and a good coat of lacing. Aroma is dark fruits, earthy yeast, light vanilla, and spice. Flavor is a big WOW, dark fruits, apple, and a well dialed in spiciness tempered well against a light oaky presence. Palate is creamy and smooth, full mouthfeel and light carbonation. This is one nice creation; thanks again Sune for the chance to try this!

Bottle from fonefan. Dark brown body with a large, fluffy tan head, lasting, nice lacing. The aroma is cola, light roast, oak, pitted fruits and toffee. The flavor is herbal, cola, candi sugar, plums skins, lightly medicinal with licorice and vanilla. Medium body is very soft and smooth with moderate, gentle carbonation.

3rd LCRBM. Bottle, vintage 2006. Aroma has plums, caramel/toffee malts, raisins, other dark fruits, oak. Taste is sweet with an evolving complex taste sensation. Very malty, very warming, very pleasant. It has caramel malts, some spices (cinnamon), some plums and raisins, dark fruits, cake and oak. Really nice.

Bottles thanks to Mads and Marsiblursi, 2006. Rating #1900. Poured a very, very deep brown with a tall, well-retained cap of medium beige head.. left some nice lacing as it descended. The aroma picked up sweet, warm raisins and other dark fruits with a substantial oak presence.. lightly-toasted all-around with warm rummy notes especially at the back-end.. warm, complex, and engaging! The flavor found rich darker fruits and caramel at the core with light herbal hoppage.. sour oak serves as a lovely contrast/accent piece leading to the warm fruity finish. Heavier-bodied with nice carbonation.. creamy middle with sour oak accents.. complex.. warmed the belly. This is a very well-crafted brew!
