| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 27, 2009 (Bottle, vintage 2006, purchased at Ölbutikken, Copenhagen) Dark brown colour with huge, frothy, pale brown head. Malty nose with dried fruit (prunes, raisins), dark rye bread, brown sugar and just a touch of wood. Slightly estery. Malty taste with dried fruit, figs, dates, ripe cherries, clove, dark bread, brown sugar and a hint of oak wood. Delicate but superb wood finishing makes it more mellow and rounded than the usual Pannepot (a lot to learn for many brewers). Full body, with smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Sweetish. Alcohol well integrated, comes through at the back of the palate in the finish. Excellent beer in lovely balance! planky84 (118), , Greater London, England
