4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2014 2009. At first sniff, I got prunes, spices, yeast, sour apples, banana peel, figs, and dark cherries. It was amazing enough already, but then I let it sit for a bit and dove my nose into the glass again and, oh, Lordy! It was the greatest thing ever. Mountains upon mountains of toffee, all bursting with fruity esters and spices. The alcohol is barely perceivable, if at all. The taste is sweet and fruity tart, with residual bitterness. It evokes figs, dark cherries, caramel, and apple cider up front and culminates with mellow, woody undertones. The mouthfeel is smooth as silk, with minor carbonation and a medium body. Otherworldly!

Gout puissant, rond et complexe, caramel cuit, caramel doux, fruits noirs (fiigue seche), fruits secs, pomme, malté, figues confites, noix huileuse, note de fruits rouges et un peu sucré chocolat. 4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Beautiful dark colord beer. Tase is pure class! Dark fruits, alcohol, bitterness, caramel, raisins, liquor, roasted malts, red fruits. Nicely balanced. There should have been more oak flavours imo. Other than that great.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Saveur Bière (2010). Big, creamy, beige head. Dark brown body. Smells of sugar, yeast, apricot, vanilla, nuts, spices. Tastes vanilla, roasted coffee beans, apricot, yeast, chocolate, nuts, spices and oak. The oak aging is clearly in the taste, which I’m not sure if it’s good or bad. I think compared to the normal Pannepot, it actually takes over some of the taste even though it’s still making it a bit more complex and full in its taste.
