COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pannepot Reserva was an idea from my brew collegue Carlo who wanted to age Pannepot in genuine French oak barrels (barrique 225 liters). We have brewed 90HL at the end of 2005 which has been aging on oak ever since (14 months). 30 Hl was bottled Tuesday 8th May 2007. 60Hl has been transferred now to second hand calvados oak vessels and will be bottled again early autumn 2007, we will name that batch Pannepot Grand Reserva. As quality and results rule at Struise, the Reserva was already brewed again and aging on oak.

This is the beer you work up to. You start your quest, try different shit here and there, sign up for rate beer, rate a little, maybe do some trades, and then this ends up in your cup. And at that point you tell yourself it was all worth it. This is such a delicious beer. Read all the other reviews if you don’t believe me.

Bottle 2010, exp. 04/05/2019. A very dark brown beer with a weak and beige head. The nose is complex and very enjoyable. Lots of dark fruits, prune and dates, some raisins, also fresh strawberries, herbal hops, also wood and dry barrel with vanilla, hint of alcohol. Taste has lots of dark fruits, prune, raisins, strawberries, strong herbs, drying wood and barrel with hint of vanilla in the end. Similar taste and aroma. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, fresh even that strong. Great beer. Complex, creamy, smooth and incredibly balanced.

2009 bottle. Deep dark reddish brown colour, beige foamy head. Nose is big on acidic wine tones along with creamy malts, brown sugar and red fruits. Taste is also big on wine notes lingering on in the (dry) aftertaste, with creamy malts, vanilla, dried figs and dades and red fruits, gingerbread, clove and other spices, chocolate, brown sugar/caramel and coffee: complex, too say the least. High alcohol grade is indeed well disguised. Medium bodied (regular Pannepot is better bodied i.m.o.), low carbonation, soft and oily mouthfeel.

whoa!! 2010 bottle to glass thanks to ClarkW!!! aromas is complex but sugars and overripe fruit is what stands out. great palate and color. Taste is complex - the dark fruits, much brown sugar - but it is never cloying; spices, yeast, wow!! great stuff. Thanks Clark!!!

11.2 oz bottle is 2010 vintage. Gusher for about 5 minutes. Pours a chestnut brown with a thin beige collar. The aroma offers dark malts, brown sugar, raisins. Smells nice. Great flavor and remarkably easy to drink. Alcohol hidden very well. A tad sweet, with lingering notes of plums, figs. Another great beer from De Struise.

Komplext men drickbart öl.

Flasche (33 cl), Jahrgang 2010, gekauft im Struise-Shop in Brügge. - Tiefstes Schwarzbraun.

Bottle, 2010. Drank this side by side with a 2011 non-Reserva. They are really quite similar, but the barrel character and matured flavors take this one to a slightly higher level. Really delicious!
