5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Dark reddish brown beer, nice lacing once again. Lovely sweet, complex and vinous aroma, the alcohol is more present here than in the original but it smells like heaven itself. So malty, spicy, fruity, now with some nice wooden notes mixed in rather than distracting the whole like in Pannepot Grand reserva. So soft yet very warming, you can feel the alcohol mostly when it has already gone down your throat. Superb beer, at least as good as the regular pannepot which makes it a perfect beer or perfect beer plus for me. Got to get more of this, If I had to drink only one beer for the rest of my life it would be this one. Still gay for Pannepot, have to five the bastard and shut up now before someone gets annoyed with me.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2012 vintage. This is so intensely Belgian-y that it should have been named "Tintin and the chocolate waffles". It should come in a box painted the tricolors of the Belgian flag. It should be served exclusively from that odd statue of the peeing boy. Someone should insert the word "Pannepot" into the Belgian national anthem. This is a wonderful, wildly complex beer that has chocolate notes (obviously -- it’s Belgian) and a lot of sweet fruit and raisin notes. With Euro 2016 coming up, I now have lots of reasons to drink to Belgium’s success.

Labeerynt 23.04.2016. W aromacie likier owocowy - przyjemna kompozycja suszonych śliwek, rodzynek, alkoholu i wanilii. W smaku owocowość z łagodnym winnym zacięciem. Gładkie i pełne a jednocześnie lekkie i pijalne. Bardzo dobre. Kolejny Belg przy którym miałem wrażenie, że mam do czynienia z autonomicznym rodzajem alkoholu.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (2012 vintage) from Cornelius. Dark brown body with no head or lacing. Aroma of leather, raisins, brown sugar and chocolate. Flavour of cherry, candi sugar and soy sauce. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. I expected much more - it’s not the nicest beer to look at, it’s surprisingly thin for the strength and it lacks the complexity of the finest Belgian beers.

Flaska från Etre Gourmete. 2012 Vintage.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Trappist glass. Dark brown with tiny, light brown head, almost no head retention and lacing. Aroma is very complex - I’ll find here everything - dark fruits, roasted malts, some licorice, sherry, light banana, woody, raisins. Strong maltiness - mainly bread and dough. Taste is medium bitter and lightly sour, strong oaky flavours are present, everything is broken by nice malty sweetness. Medium to full body, oily texture, rather lively carbonation finish is sour-sweet and heavy malty. In general this is real flavours and aromas bomb, lots of dark fruits, roasted malts broken by oaky sourness and characteristics. This beer is definetly worth trying, even not very experienced beer geek will find here all above characteristics.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 20, 2016 2012 version. Dark red with a tan head that fizzes away to nothing in seconds. Aroma of dried fruit, leather, strong bread, licorice, autumnal fruit, the forest floor. A bit Old Ale-ish, quite vinous. Chocolate and roasted flavours join the fruit and bread in the taste, which has a lot of malty depth but treads surprisingly lightly. Carbonation is fairly low. Warming in a slow, booming way - the alcohol is not disguised but is very well integrated. Wood and a slightly lean towards dry combine with subtle bitterness to finish. There’s a suggestion of other spices there too. Perhaps the next bottle will have a head. Great.
