| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Pour is quite dark with a head that is absolutely beautiful. It is mid tan and so thick it juggles when the glass is moved. Aroma is yeast and fruit with some spice. Flavor is delicious and grows more so as the beer warms. It begins with yeast leading the way but soon fruit moves up. Alcohol is quite noticeable. This was amazingly smooth throughout. A fantastic beer! Slokop (94), Tilburg, Netherlands
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 This is my x-th Pannepot 2006 I drink and the first I rate. One difference with the previous ones. This one I got from regular trade just recently for 3.59 euros. What I dont know about this beers history is a vast part of its past. This beer is back from 2006, so it is aged you might say. I just recently purchased this example. Need I say more. I will rate one of my own stack soon and rerate the Struise Pannepot 2006, also soon !
And for its taste... a bit cherry sour with dark sweets. Hops are mildly present just behind sour and sweet. It makes both just mentioned flavours play second fiddle in a complex way.
Very balanced.
I hope my stack is even better. watson1977 (265), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 18, 2009 2007 bottle...pours a deep and murky brown with a huge, foamy light mocha colored head...great retention! aroma is very malty with some fruity notes, some funk, faint sourness, leather, and a touch of spice. flavor is complex! very spicy with some malty roastiness, leather, a bit of funk, and some candy sugar, maybe a hint of pepper?...lots more going on but my palate isn’t quite that refined! mouthfeel is silky and heavy with a long spicy and dry finish. very nice stron ale! cr0n0s (3), , Netherlands does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Pours a dirty brown color with a medium sized tan head. Big nose of fruity malts, yeast esters and some subtle Belgian spice characteristics. Big bold flavors swim harmoniously in the mouth creating a very smooth flavor profile and body. Malt is obviously dominant, the way the fruitiness carries over from the nose is very impressive and well executed. Medium bodied and incredibly (insanely) drinkable. One of my favorite quads of all time, highly recommended. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 17, 2009 Bottle: Brown, not clear. Pitted fruit and dry wine-like aroma. Flavor of dry, splintery wood with a little liquor thrown in. It has a dry finish. BuckeyeBoy (1652), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Vintage 2007. Pours dark reddish brown with a plentiful tan head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. I smell raisins, cherries, yeast, maple syrup, spices, and vanilla. Taste is quite spicy and very flavorful. There are plenty of woody and floral qualities. Rich malts, yeast, dark fruits, apples. Alcohol really comes through as it warms. This is rich, velvety and completely floods the mouth. This is a remarkable brew. beerbill (1938), Laurel, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2009 2006 Vintage. 11.2 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with brentfeesh. Pours a dark brown that does not allow light to pass through with a moderate off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of raisins, figs, molasses, oak, and just a bit of smokiness. The flavor is equally lovely but different from the aroma. Not as fruity as the aroma suggests, while the malt is a stronger presence and is more earthy and a bit more smokey than in the aroma. Some brown sugar and nutmeg are also present in the flavor. Dries out a bit on the palate as it approaches the finish. Full bodied. A very enjoyable beer, although not a top 50 candidate for me personally.
