Bottle courtesy Mcbackus. Pours a dark brown with a thick creamy tan head. Sweet malty aroma with lots of spicy cinnamon, vanilla and Belgian yeast. Taste is spicy cinnamon, spices, brown sugar with a big malt body and lots of complex Belgian yeast flavors. A very good beer, thanks Matt!

Millésime 2006, Dégusté à l’autre oeil dans un verre tulipe de façon linéaire avec comme comparaison sa grande soeur LA GRANDE RÉSERVE. Une apparence brune ambré au reflet rubis avec dépôt de levure trouble harmonisant une belle mousse d’un blanc brun. Une odeur d’épices: poivres, muscade, canelle et de sel. Une odeur avec de la classe, quelle fraîcheur! Nous pouvons rajouter de la prune et un petit côté vineuse et liquoreuse. Une bière dense et équilibré. Je peux rajouter quelle est évolutive car avec un peu de temps, elle développe un goût de sucre brun, de sirop de canne et de sucre à la crême. En ce moment j’aimerais vous dire que je vie un moment de pléniture! Et comme si se n’était pas assez je voulais avoir le coeur net et savoir immédiatement ce qu’avais à offrir la grande réserve. J’ai réalisé qu’elle était complètement différente! Difficile de tranché pour choisir qui gagnerait car les deux sont sources d’inspiration et permettent de faire un voyage intérieur. Mon choix c’est arrêté sur la GRANDE RÉSERVE pour l’élaboration à différents niveaux de subtilités gustatives. L’ajoux d’un vieillissement en fût de chêne collabore beaucoup à cette distinction, Mais pour sa finesse la PANNEPOT se taille une place confortable car avec un peu plus de temps en cave, cette bière pourrais facillement gagner la prochaine bataille. Ce n’est pas parce que nous perdons une bataille que nous pouvons perdre la guerre!

330ml brown bottle. 2007. Pours dark brown, opaque. Has a noisy light brown head that slowly fades to a ring. Sweet malty aroma, slightly fruity/raisny, some banana yeast esters and toffee/caramel sweetness. Flavour is yeasty and fruity with sweet malt, brown sugar, slight banana notes, caramel malt, cola, vanilla, and super ripe cherries. Finish has a slight coffee note, and cherry flavoured tobacco which pleasantly lingers. Carbonation is medium to strong creating a tingling sensation on the tounge. Medium body. Very interesting beer, complex and new flavours kept revealing themselves through the whole bottle. Rating #900

Murky brown coloured, small to medium pale brown head, dried fruits nose with touch of vanilla. Complex one; malty, quite yeasty and well spiced taste with notes of plums, toffee and alcohol. Pleasant sweetish spicy-alcoholic finish.

10/01 0.33 l bottle (2007 vintage) my neighbor Zrinka brought from Brussels, thanks! It poured beautiful murky brown body with medium sized brownish head that lived for quite long time. Nose was not particularly strong, but really exquisite. Spicy (vanilla, cinnamon and some herbs), yeasty in banana, bubblegum and fruity way which combines with dark fruits and caramel maltiness. Maybe also hint of hops. Fantastic flavor, relatively complex with some dark fruits, chestnut, toffee, some coffee and great spices. Some slight hop bitterness, like orange which only adds to its perfect balance. Alcohol is felt, although it’s pretty well hidden. Full bodied and creamy texture give it great, slightly sweetish finish which have to put a smile on your face and head in the clouds. This one really hit me, it’s maybe the best I’ve ever had! AWESOME BEER!

12 oz bottle courtesy of Beerlando as an extra before it was easily available up here. 2006 vintage. Pours a deep dark murky brown with huge cinnamon head that laces and sticks around very well. Aromas are belgian spicy yeast, banana bread, brown sugar, touches of vanilla, candy sugar, and light caramel. Very complex, banana bread sticks out prominently. Initial is warming and alcohol up front, moving to a very belgian malty and yeasty body, spice and light banana and cakey elements. Lighter than expected, carmel and vanilla dance and mix well. A bit of a warming boozy finish with a touch of bitter chocolate, tartness, and maybe even some dark fruit, still very smooth. Very enjoyable, complex. Breaks the mold.

Bottle. 2007 edition. Tart-sweet ripe fruit aroma. Deep brown body, topped with very large fizzy brown head. Flavor is sweet, deep fruity, candy and rich. Lots of carbonation. Certainly a complex and enjoyable brew, but on the whole a bit too sweet for me.

Bottle (2007) courtesy of heavy (thanks!) who shared it with me and ogivlado. Poured an opaque brown body with a medium sized off white head. The nose is interesting, sweet with some notes of honey, alcohol, slightly bubblegummy fruitiness. A lovely maltiness dominates the taste (toffee maybe), coffee makes an appearance too, some spiciness (thyme?), a weak acidity. Perfectly balanced.
