Bottle share thanks to Fergus for the 2009 and Scopey for 2010. Poura a murky brown with an off white head. Smells musty and tich fruit. Tastes like a liquidised Christmas cake your gran went a little overboard on the booze. It’s smooth and very nice

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep brown with an amber hue. It has no lacing or head retention, which is to be expected due to the high ABV. Smells of molasses and yeast. Has a sweeter taste, heavy on the brown sugar and molasses. A good desert beer, but not a memorable one.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Excelente.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 oz. bottle. 2011 edition, so it has around 4 years of age on it. Consumed on 6-4-15. Scents of cinnamon, plum, pear, caramel, salted chocolate, pretzel, red grape, and Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon (hearty, fruity, dark red wine). Quite spicy in aroma. The smell reminds me of a freshly baked Snickerdoodle cookie. Great, complex, appetizing aroma. Pours a maroon-ish dark brown or a very dark amber with a small amount of taupe head. Amber glow. Nice color. Much suspended particulate. The flavor largely matches the aroma except that the flavor is a bit more bitter than the aroma is. Gingerbread, molasses, chocolate, bitters (Angostura or otherwise), and prune flavors. Tangy, dry, complex, and delicious. A touch of booze noticeable, but in a totally inoffensive way. Prune-like aftertaste. Medium to full body. Not as thick in the palate as I thought it would be. Fizzy, lively, and smooth. Easy to drink given the high alcohol. Pannepot is really, really good. It’s not quite the best beer of its type that I’ve ever had, but it’s up there. There’s a lot going on. It’s one of the best beers I’ve had in a while.

bottle at home bought some time ago in Prague. Vintage 2014. almost black color, small coffee-colored. smells sour, sour cherries, some malt, dried fruits, some sweetness. smell is balanced between sweet- and sourness, does not work so well for me though. full body, rather strong carbonation, full bubbly mouthfeel. tastes sour, some sweetness, acidic, citric, a bit astringent, some notes of fruit jam, light medical / metallic notes, malts. rather dry / lightly sour / also fruity finish. rather good, I like the taste a bit better than the smell.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
0,33 l bottle as a souvenir from my colleagues’s trip to Antwerp over New Year’s Day, 2014 vintage. Clear, almost opaque, very dark reddish brown to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, brown head. Pleasant, fruity-malty aroma of dark ripe fruits, cane sugar and a bit of coffee. Very intense, sweetish fruity-malty taste of prunes, figs and raisins, accompanied by flavours of cane sugar, dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. Rather long, chocolaty, slightly warming and even a bit hoppy finish. Full body, creamy and smooth mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Great beer. Incredibly tasty, great palate and only a little alcohol can be detected. It is somehow even refreshing due to its fruitiness. Very dangerous!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lighter hazy brown, thin enough ringed head. Dusty berry, scratchy choc caramel flakes and damp oakiness. Lean sweetness is what takes me up on the Pot, it’s thin and passable enrichment with a thicker mouthfeel than many brassy towns with some liquorice embers. Finishes rich, spongey and steady choc.

On tap at Doherty’s Ale House in Warwick. Deep purplish brown. Thin head. Very sweet to start, smoothes out after a while with dark earthy, raisony notes. Very underwhelming.
