Bottle (Vintage 2005) at Kulminator, Antwerpen. Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and the perfect creamy beige head with an enticing Belgian lace. Wow what an aroma - ripe fruit - berry, plums, prune, blackcurrant, caramel, spice, chocolate and I could go on and on. It really changes in the glass. It takes some time but I finally taste this amazing beer - it’s perfectly balanced. Dark chocolate with rich fruit and spice mix, caramel, brown sugar and freshly cooked oatmeal bread. Truly remarkable. It’s deliciously smooth and bitter that lingers well past the last drop. Put simple it’s one of the most amazing beers I’ve been lucky enough to drink. Beautifully crafted and it’s aged graciously. 2005 is the perfect year for the Pannepot.
