COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the early 1900s, the village of De Panne, close to the French border, was famous for two things -- the ‘Pannepots,’ or fishing boats, that could be seen along the coast, and the unique dark ale enjoyed by the local fishermen. Our Old Fisherman’s Ale is a tribute to these hardy sailors and their rich, flavorful brew. Unfiltered. Unpasteurized. Bottle-conditioned in 33cl and 75cl.

Denne belgian strong ale har et mørkt udseende med et meget svagt skum. Øllen har en sød aroma af lakrids og karamel og smager meget sødt af, lidt for sødt, og med noter af citron. Lav karbonering.

Bottle 33cl. Vintage 2015. Poured into a trappist glass. Pitch black, small foamy tan head, mostly diminishing, light lacing; strong licorice aroma, roasted malts, dried dark fruits, bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon; taste is heavy sweet and light bitter, roasted malts, licorice, sugary, alcohol, spicy notes, with long duration, sweetbitter finish, roasty notes, peaty, cloying; full-bodied, oily to sticky texture, soft carbonation; heavy stuff, well-balanced despite its sweetness and alcohol but at the moment it lacks subtlety.
