COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the early 1900s, the village of De Panne, close to the French border, was famous for two things -- the ‘Pannepots,’ or fishing boats, that could be seen along the coast, and the unique dark ale enjoyed by the local fishermen. Our Old Fisherman’s Ale is a tribute to these hardy sailors and their rich, flavorful brew. Unfiltered. Unpasteurized. Bottle-conditioned in 33cl and 75cl.

On bottle at Öl&Whiskymässan. Muddy brown with low head. Armoas of oranges in a typical belgian strong al styple. Round and smooth taste, low carbonation and hints of chocolate

Anyada 2008. Llarga, densa, aromes fumades, dolces. Cremosa, complexa, llarga, de moment, com sempre, la millor de la nit. Impecable. Molt més rodona que la 2009. Un 10.

Pours black with small dark brown highlights and small light brown head. Good small bubble lacing, good mouthfeel, and small bubble carbonation. Taste is complex dark fruit (mostly raisin) and some molasses. I haven’t seen one in this style which was that dark (black) and the alcohol is well covered.

Pours pitch black out of the bottle with a light brown head. Aroma is of hops and malt. Smooth and rich on the tongue. Great beer. Incredible depth.

This poured a murky darker brown color with a medium sized beige head. Aroma was lots of dark candy sugar, slightly burnt, dark fruits, some molasses too. Flavor was very strong and bright and in your face, very sweet and sticky, lots of toast, caramel, toffee, some dark fruits and belgian spices as well. Nice.

Pours a lasting ring of tan head with a dark brown body. Aromas of molasses and vegetal. Flavor is molasses, toasted malt, some dark chocolate. herbal quality. Finish is sticky, slightly bitter and dry, cocoa and vanilla. Alcohol is well hidden.

From the bottle. Poured a dark brown with ruby along the edges. Finger’s worth of head. I get dark fruits, caramel, and spices on the nose. Taste follows up with hops, malts, chocolate and light smokiness. 10% is very well masked.

Dark brown with red hues. Light, foamy tan head that replenishes itself to the end. Flowers, apples, cherries, mild spice. Initially mix of sweet and dark fruits, spice. Middle is caramel candy, toffee. Finishes with lightest of roasted malts, light earthy hop presence. Some wood-like aspects. Dry, but not overly. Some trailing sweetness, tartness, and fruit. All melds perfectly, completely smooth. No alcohol hints. No breaks in the flavor trail. The way it should be.
