2006 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured reddish/brown color with large light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Very complex dark fruit, citrus, caramel and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Full complex sweet flavor with solid fruity sweet finish and a small bite of alcohol. Very good standout brew.

Black, tan head. Sweet burnt malty bitter aroma, some marzipan too. Soft on the tongue. A bit alcoholic, though not punching at its full 10% by any means. Accompanying the burntness is some caramel and some bitter hints too. Finish is fairly burnt, but also soft.

(330ml bottle, RBSG05) Big tan head topped by opaque brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, yeast, raisin, cocoa. Taste is sweet, milk chocolate, light anise. Creamy full body that renders the alcohol virtually invisible.

11.2 oz vintage 2006 bottle sent from Dany / Glouglouburp, pours dark brown with a medium beige / tan head. Very complex aroma of black currants, raisins, plum, molasses and caramel. Dark roasty malt flavour upfront, with the complex dried fruits coming in immediately after, also with burnt caramel and molasses. Wonderful.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent mostly lasting head. Deep red-brown colour. Fruity nice moderate aroma.
Powerfull fruity woody flavor. Prunes and vanilla and many more nice ingredients. Creamy palate. Long nice finish.

Bottle poured a hazy reddish brown with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, spice, fruitiness, light choclate and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, spice, fruitiness and light cocoa with a smooth lingering spiced finish.

One of the first beers I tasted, think it must have been 2008. One of my first favorites also. It’s not a top 10 beer for me now, but it’s certainly a great brew. Nice dark color, average smell but a complex, full taste.

2006 bottle tasted July 2007. Very dark red-brown with a big, pillowy light brown head. Complex aroma filled with orange, cherry, figs, bubblegum, anise, nutmeg, cinnamon.
Sweet, fruity flavour with more than a hint of port, and some licorice and anise in the finish. It’s soft and velvet on the tongue, but the carbonation stings a little.
Long lasting malty aftertaste finishes this beauty perfectly.
