COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival ’Københavnske Øldage 2006’ exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer’s popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

330ml bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a small light tan head that lasts. Not lacking in viscosity. The aroma is big, intense, and awesome. Caramel, toffee, raisins and other dark fruits, molasses. Big amazing flavor as well, up there with regular Pannepot. Deep, rich malt notes, lots of toffee and some toast. Prunes, dates, and raisins, molasses, and slight anise. Thick and silky smooth on the mouthfeel. Full-bodied with soft carbonation. Despite the richness, finishing a sizable pour was easy. This is another excellent incarnation of an epic beer.

Bottle from the brewery/shop at Oostvleteren; the very last, forgotten specimen of the 2007 batch, discovered by accident in a window shelve. :-) Pours a murky, dark oaky brown body with a solid dense, creamy white head. Nose is figs, raisins, wood and dark candy sugar with hints of alcohol. Beautifully composed taste: licorice, wood, dark candy sugar, sherry and hints of raisins. Warming alcohol with bitter licorice in the finish. This is a perfect winter warmer in my opinion, and among the most pronounced brews of the Pannepot series despite its three years of maturation. A truly excellent beer.

2008 version, bottled. Dark brown-orange color with a loose, high head. Tangy, fruity aroma. Flavor os raisins and caramel, tangy, fruity, somewhat sour. Nice tangy-sweet balance, big and dark. Flavorful and nice.

Bottle. Thanks to hobbersr. Pours hazy brown, thin to medium pale-tan head, spotty lacing. Nose is rye bread, fruitcake, lots of spice. Some real acidity in the nose too. Hmmmmm.... Palate us fruit, nuts, acid, spice, chocolate, cognac, really layered and lovely. rather light & balanced in the mouth. Damn solid.

Smells sweet, bread and fruits, not much on the head/lacicng but its a nice foamy, zay brown. Reminds me Rich and creamy and thick, it fades out with % and yeasty sweet malt, it’s quite taste.

2006 Danish label at Uber in Seattle Washington. Dark maroon, murky. Sourish caramel aroma, but much sweeter taste and a butterscotch finish. Bizarre, in an interesting sort of way.

Lovely. Rich spiced dried fruits and caramel but warmer than that. Serving: Bottle
