Dark fruits on the nose prunes and dates with just a hint of spice. Pouts a dark amber. Caramelized malts with some richer molasses notes dark fruits like prunes and dates as well. Anise notes develope as it warms. Very nice to drink

33cl bottle from 2007, I know the new versions so there is quiet some difference between this 4 year old bottle and trhe new ones. It’s very sweet, a huge fruit taste and no alcohol. It looks dark red-brown with a lot of sediment if you pour it out completely.

Sampled at the day after thanksgiving tasting 2011. Murky brown pour with no head. Raisin and plum are the keynotes here. Quite tasty. Creamy body as the yeast was very roused on my sample. Good stuff.

This beer has the taste and the level of the beer from De Struise. This is a little less good then the Pannepot. To be tried.

Courtesy of Footbalm, (I believe). Muddy, murky brown, tan film. Some spice and caramel up front, but rather light aroma. Again spice dominates the flavor profile. Decent malt backbone, light floral hops, faint sourness in backend. Decent overall.

This is a vintage 2007 bottle that was purchased at Star Grocery in Berkeley, CA. I believe this was the last bottle they had. Musty, minerally, and lightly spicy aroma. Some sweet, fruity, and estery notes are also there. Mild-moderate oxidation. Mildly hazy garnet-amber body with a small-medium off-white head. Sweet and metallic flavors are present to start, before this becomes rather minerally. Has a good deal of fruitiness in the middle. Finishes with more metallic character and a slightly ethanolic presence. Seems a little thin.

33cl flesje uit 2010. Alcohol 10% Ingeschonken in mijn test tulpglas. Mooie romige schuimkraag. De kleur van het bier is donker kastanje kleur bijna zwart. De schuimkraag kleeft niet tegen de wand van het glas. Bijna olieachtig qua vloeistof, vol van smaak. De smaak is abrupt. Ik proef accenten van koffie, toetsen van karamel en het broodachtige. De smaak is perfect in balans: niet zoet, een beetje bitter van de hop, niet zuur. Een fantastisch geniet bier.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. I can taste the molasses in there. A thick sweet rich flavour. Chocolate and coffee at first. There’s a lot to it. I like it a lot.
