33cl bottle obtained at West Lakeview Liquor in Chicago. Pours a cloudy red/brown, after a geyser of foam opening the bottle. Aroma strongly of figs, spice, and brown sugar. Taste sweet, slight spice, and slightly acidic. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Very nice beer!
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 gnoff (4830) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 10, 2008
(33 cl bottle at Café 3 Små Rum, Göteborg) On June 9, 2008 BB 05-11, 2006 vintage Not gushing, but slowly coming out on its own At least I think this is the one, it did read Pannepøt on the label, but also "Old Monk’s Ale PNP No. 5" Clear beautiful dark red colo0r, small light brown head. With a nicer looking and bigger head it would have been stunningly beautiful. Sweet, spicy, lactic, yogurt scent. Spicy, phenolic, metallic, lactic, smoke, band aid taste. Moussy mouthfeel that grows in the mouth. Low bitterness.

bottle. I don’t think this went over well at the tasting but I thought it was darn good! Very ruby red color. Aroma of raisin or dark fruit. Creamy and yeasty with a hint of the 10%. A Belgian strong ale that I can get behind for sure.

Bottle recommendation - Poured a dark reddish black with a tan simmering head. A rich strong grape aroma. On the Pallet there are hints of coffee-dark roast, coco and an earthy grape sweetness. Some slight odd sourness which may have turned me off a little. For all the hype I’m going to need a re-taste of this.

Another gift from Mes, and another belting beer. Lovely. Creamy flavour with a load of dark spices, fruit and other flavours bunged in. Alcohol present but compliments the taste. A pleasure to have in my pie hole. Cheers again bro.

Bottle. Had it right after a Pannepot, and hardly compares outside of the name. Dark fruits abound, spices, alcohol, pretty average body for a Belgian Strong. Lacks the creamy body and rich flavors of Pannepot. My whole rating probably shouldn’t be based on the comparison, but suffice it to say it’s a solid Belgian Strong that’s worth a go.

Bottle. Pours a light cloudy brown with a small tan head (lighter body than Pannepot and the head is not as creamy and thick). Aroma mostly of light fruits, spices, and spicy crisp apple. Flavor of Belgian yeast, spcies, light fruits. It tastes so fresh! Not as complex as the Pannepot but I like the lighter fruit presence. Palate is not as creamy. I think I preferred this to the Pannepot.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blipp (3600) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - JUL 1, 2008
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Fruity aroma, with melon, raisin and honey. Medium body, smooth, but a bit flat. Sweet malt flavor, honey, caramel, and fig. Ok, but not great.
