3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bp (661) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2008
Bottle (2006 vintage): pours a murky, brownish-red with just a few whisps of head, strong aroma of alcohol and spices, taste is malty with plenty of spices, no sign of the alcohol.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DUNGA (10) - BELGIUM - JUN 5, 2008
2006 Vintage: Slightly thick head which dissipates slowly, spicy aroma and mouth feel, cinnamon is apparent. Chocolate is present, candy, maltiness, candi sugar, bit of caramel. Not as complex as the Pannepot Number 4 I think and I prefer the other one.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 EricE (1232) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - JUN 4, 2008
Thick dark brown pour with a thin light tan head. Very intense spice aroma - sweet cinnamon and nutmeg. Similar spicy flavor. The spices remind me of many Christmas beers. Its port like and strong, but the alcohol is not overpowering. I think I would have enjoyed this more on a cold winter day.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ethereal (2355) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2008
Tashi’s house, 28/05/08. Bottle courtesy of Mes and Reakt. Pours a murky brown with a malty aroma that manages to be both salty and sour. Chocolate malt, oranges, toffee and hops all vie for your attention and the spicy notes keep the candy sweetness in check. Smooth on the tongue, but rather unbalanced and "to & fro" for my liking.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 undsioux7 (745) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - MAY 31, 2008
Pours a dark brown with a good sized flufy tan head. Aroma of candi sugar, belgian yeast, caramel. Taste is the same with maybe a hint of dark fruit. Good stuff.

2006 vintage 11.2 oz. bottle (purchased at Keg Liquors in southern Indiana: Clarksville) into sniffer with most of bottle conditioning yeast left behind. First thing first, I quickly bought this thinking it was the PannepOt; oh well, lets give it a try. Pours dark brown amberish with a nice off-white head. The head stunned me because it was shaping up to be a normal big puffy beer head, but then it started fizzling loudly like a soda’s, receding pretty quickly. Very typical sweet Belgian aroma with hints of cherries and sugar. Flavor includes sweet malts with cherries (somewhat metallic altogether) with a grain flavored finish. There seems to be much more complexity on the finish than the initial flavor. The alcohol is hidden very well. It is heavy on the stomach but soft, a bit fizzy, and medium to light bodied on the palate. Overall: I tend not to be a Belgian man due to the general sweetness of the style, but this is quite pleasurable; I wouldn’t have more than one in a sitting though, because this bitch is still a bit too sweet for my taste; worth a try though, although I wouldn’t buy it again at 7-8 dollars per single.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 HogTownHarry (4809) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAY 28, 2008
Bottle (330ml). Shared by blankboy. 2006 Vintage. Cloudy deep brownish-red with an smallish frothy off-white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma, thick sweet yeast, dry hops, floral pungency, not much alcohol. Taste follows, dry, sweet, dry hopped, subtle with hints of candy, chocolate, raisins, appleseed and wildflowers - and where’s that 10%? Somewhat thick, astringent ---- not a world beater, but well made and damned tasty.
