3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2016-03-18. Dark amber body with a modest creamy beige head. 3++ Aroma is unique, sweet caramel base with a vaguely woody or floral character to it. Brown sugar. Flavour is similar, sweetish toffee like base, is actually more brown sugar like. Warming alcohol is prominent but not overbearing. Fruity notes throughout. 7+ Average plus bodied palate, carbonation. Decent. 7/3-4/7/3-4/15-16 Bottle from North Bar, Leeds.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Wow! Massive complexity. I love the oak, the red wine and the bourbon in this already complex quad. Mostly sweet but still in balance. Really really good!

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Hoppy Loft, march 15th 2015. Amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is malty with bourbon and oranges. Taste is fullbodied, caramel, complex maltiness, fruity yeast esters. High sweetness playing teasefully with the alcohol level, with dark fruits in the long lasting finish. A great one!

Super stuff !!!

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2008, on tap for Backcountry Pizzaís 5th anniversary party. Pours a bright, unclear orange color, with a small, beige, creamy, and persistent head. The nose is caramel, vanilla, rye, orange peels, and sweet cherries. The flavor is sweet, with a light bitterness and a warming, boozy finish. Medium to heavy body, a little acidic, and just a little watery. The aroma of this beer is simply fantastic - I could sit and smell it forever - but the mouthfeel is a little weak.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (750 ml) shared at tasting. Hazy orangey with a small off-white head, ok retention, leaving some lacing. Aroma is super fruity and yeast with a good amount of vanilla and oak but it take a while to open up and let some bourbon and wine flavors out. Thereís also of course alcohol (not burning though), caramel and oxidation notes thatís arent ruining the beer and fits the profile to some extent. Taste is not overly sweet but itís really fruity to the point of being nearly cloying. Thereís also alcohol, bourbon more than wine, caramel, mild to moderate spiciness and vanilla. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Fruity finish. A good alcohol warmth. Lingering fruitiness. Itís a bit over the top and too fruity for my liking but it gets interesting when the bourbon and wine notes finally come through. Good.
