Draft, Max’s Belgianfest. Designated 2008 vintage. Hazy amber body, small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin, some prune, cognac. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin/plum, some cognac. Sticky full body, minimal carbonation.

On draft at Max’s 9th Annual Belgian Fest. Pours a hazy, golden raisin color with zero head. Nose is woody, sticky toffee, raisin, orange, perfume, nail polish. Flavor is very boozy, rum, orange, candy sugar, nail polish, perfume. Full, sticky, boozy finish.

Tap at Max’s Taphouse. Pours clear dark orange with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma is fruity esters, honey and biscuit malt with earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is sweet malt forward with spicy alcohol, fruity esters and a sweet finish. Full body and light carbonation.

Tap. Pours mostly clear amber with just a trace of thin, fizzy white head. Aroma is floral hops, figs, pears, bread and biscuit malts, light grass and light spice. Flavor is sweet malts forward with great supporting fruit esters; extremely delicious with just the right amount of citrus and floral hops along with a hint of herbs; dry, lightly sweet finish. Medium/full body and low carbonation.

Draft at wf coddingtown. Clear light toffee brown with minimal head...but what is that has tight carbonation. Sweet candied lighter toasted malt, hint of raw golden raisin, balanced bourbony oak. Sticky somewhat viscous mouth feel. Somewhat of a belgian barleywine...sweet maris otter malt, white candied sugar, vanilla, white oak. Well done and balanced for what it is.

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm) Dark red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with red fruit, caramel, dried fruit, apricots, oak wood and hints of cellar. Malty, fruity taste with notes of red berries, caramel, orange peel, candy sugar, dried fruit, rum raisins, oak wood and a smooth, sweet finish with a gentle bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

Bottle from Etre Gourmet. Pours almost clear dark golden with a small white head. Aroma of toffee malts, marmelade and fruit. Smooth creamy mouthfeel.Taste of spicy toffee malts, spices mixes very well with a light alcohol burn towards the end. A beer that caresses my mouth, not a ordinary beer, nice burn towards the end, with lingering toffee underneath. Good+

En tirador Reserva del 2008.Muy buena cerveza,bien equilibrada,con una entrada suave pero gran complejidad.Muy acertado el sabor a bourbon.Bien envejecida.Fantastica

Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Malt and yeast aroma with oak. Malt and fruity estery flavor with oak and yeast. Medium bodied. malt and light caramel lingers with fruity esters.

75cl bottle.Hazy dark brown pour with off white head.Malt,oak,vanilla,fruit and orange in the aroma.Tasted of malt and oak with ripe fruits also prominent.Vanilla and bourbon also there.Would like to try this again after another 2 or 3 years cellaring.Tasty.
